This game is going to be fucking awesome

Looks great, but also looks like the ragdolls need some work.

I never was hyped for this so i won't be sad if it's shitty. And i can wait even 2 years if i have to.

Needs more Euphoria.

I haven't really been following this. But then I stopped following games after GTA IV. Looks rather nice though. Even if on the off chance it turns to be bad, I'll still buy it because it's Mafia and Mafia was my favourite game for a while even if I only had the shitty butchered PS2 version (No police in free roam for example, and all pedestrians were male).

So far it appears to be almost a disgrace to the die hard MAFIA fans. Sure the game would be good, but when you really compare the two games, the new one appears to be 2 steps forward 1 step back, progress is being made, but terribly. Think of it as Fallout 3. Sure the game in it's own right was good, but as a continuation of the Fallout series, it was down right terrible. However i'm still psyched for this game, but i am not considering it a MAFIA game, the only two things they have in common to me is the Name. Where you can get pulled over by a cop for speeding, running a toll, running a red light, or having a weapon out in public, also the investigation of gunshots.

They're still focusing on the story, and trying to keep things like driving realistic to the time peroid.

Also from the videos it looked like they removed a degree of realism. Though it still looks like it could be a good game.

What makes this better then Godfather/Godfather II?

Godfather is a rather mediocre game that puts you as a high person in the Mafia and it has a bit of a strategy side to it. Mafia II is like a more realistic version of GTA where you play as a low-level member of the Mafia.

The Godfather games were DRM riddled, buggy, short, floaty, had about 20 vehicles between them and were an awful waste of a license. This is a sequel to a gaming classic. With you know, content.

I still thing that Mafia was one of the best games (mainly on PC) ever. They better not fuck the sequel up. [editline]08:28PM[/editline] I loved the original. The whole soundtrack (music, weapon/vehicle sounds, and at least the original Czech speech (yes, the game is originally Czech)) was godly. The missions all had incredible immersion in them. It wasn't some "Go there, kill that guy", the missions were as varied as they could get, and the campaign was still perfectly long. Even through there were only few real choices in the missions, it still didn't feel streamlined. The whole physics and vehicle engine was a total riot for its time. Even through the combat system was somewhat frustrating from time to time (mainly at the shitty FPS I had at the time), it was still really balanced and challenging, while fun. The story and dialogues were movie grade.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Mafia is one of my favourite games ever, so if the sequel is anything as good as the first, it'll pretty much be the best game ever.

I hated it when the bad guys shot a hole in your gas tank when driving a mission vehicle. RESTART! HURR HURR because some asshole got a lucky shot while you were speeding away. Good times :3 The first one was GOTY for me.
