It's like worms but every worm moves at the same time, is a player, has a machinegun and recharging jetpack.
We should all get a game/server going or something.
Daaamn, it's been a long time since I played this.
I wish this was still played enough to warrant playing.
They need to make another.
movement was wayyy too floaty for my tastes
Hey I used to play this!
I remember playing this over LAN with my chums a lot. Enthusiasm kind of died out at around the time when I tried to customize the weapon values for when I hosted but I'm pretty sure it's a coincidence.
Oui, I remember playing with my bro. We were tag teaming on people, I was hiding in bushes and throwing knives at people and if they managed to escape bro chased em with chainsaw. Fun stuff.
That's a really fun game to play, thanks for reminding me about it. And yes, we need a server of Soldat.
I introduced this game to my father back in 2004-2005 and he still plays it today. Owns one of the biggest servers/communities around, leo's realistic servers or something last time I checked.
I used to play this about 10 years ago now.
Oh my god, I played the shit out of this a couple of years ago..
Why not play the shit out of it now?
It's aged quite nicely. I remember playing this online for 5 minutes, then going back to bots because everyone was better than me.
Like you said, it was hard to be competitive in multiplayer and bots are only entertaining for so long. Virtually no server ever played official maps either so you had to download them, which was a pain.
This game needs an overhaul, like an complete new build of it from scratch on some amazing engine from today.
I first played this when 1.3.1 was just released. I think I quit sometime when the community started to get really pissed at former developer EnEscE.
Apparently one of the tons of maps that I made for it is now a default map.

Are you okidding me? Your father is Leo? He probably doesn't remember me, but I know he posted on the forums quite frequently.

If you are the same Swebonny as the one from Soldatforums, your English has improved tremendously :v:

blast from the past
what is with the mods forgetting things today
Nostalgia. I remember it was through soldat I was introduced to mods for the first time. My friend told me there was a halo mod and I thought all they did was basically copy and paste one game into the other or something. :v:
Oh god, loved this game. I remember being a kid, all I played was Counterstrike, Soldat and Continuum.
Play it in your lab at school/uni. It fits on a memory stick, and as long as your network admins aren't absolutely insane with security, you should be able to connect via lan. My students play Gang Garrison 2 a bit, and I join them, at the end of term after all assessments are done.

Yup that was me indeed. I was like 11-12 when I was most active on the forums. Frankly I didn't realize how bad my English was back then, but I did visit the archives not long ago and read some of my fucking terrible posts. No wonder you remember me, I must been like some kind of a joke. Who were you by the way?
