Recomend me a good horror game - Games

I want to play a good horror game. So, if you know one please tell me. What I have played (might not be horror): -Penumbra: Overture -Penumbra: Black Plague -Penumbra: Requiem -Dead Space -Doom 3 -Condemned: Criminal Origins -Nosferatu -Resident Evil 3 -Alan Wake (seen the walkthrough on xbox) -The Suffering -I'm not alone -Left 4 Dead -System Shock 2 -Bioshock -Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth -Killing Floor -Cryostasis -Alien vs Predator 2 -Alien vs Predator (2010) -Unbirth -Silent Hill 4 -Saw -The Path And a couple of others. At the moment I'm waiting for Amnesia: The Dark Descent

You've only played silent hill 4? That was one of the not so good ones. You should play the earlier ones in the series.

Silent Hill 2 is probably the best Silent Hill game, haven't actually played Silent Hill 1 though.

Every silent hill before silent hill 4.

FEAR isn't scary if you've played Penumbra etc. [editline]08:52PM[/editline] You might want to try STALKER although it's mostly just action. The few horror moments are great, however.

Personally I like FEAR a lot, even if it doesn't scare you that much. For £7 on steam you can't really go wrong.

I'd also recommend the other silent hill games. Eternal Darkness is perhaps the most scared I've been in a game, though that was when I was younger. If you can play it, do so. It's very original and atmospheric.

Get rid of Silent Hill 4 for 2 or 3.

OP, try Dark Fall.[/QUOTE] The AI was really awesome, but I meant the actual shooting mechanics. They were clunky and flawed. Also, a lot of the AI stuff was pretty much semi-scripted so it seems way less impressive on a second play through.

Clive Barker's Undying. If I remember right, it was pretty cool.

Try the fatal frame/Project zero series for the PS2. The last one (4) is for the wii though and is only fan translated. But trust me, the project zero games are perfect horror games.

If you have a PS3 you should try Siren The Blood Curse.

You must play silent hill 2, just for the experience. Its a masterpiece. Silent hill 3 is pretty good too, better graphics and gameplay but the plot and immersion just doesn't compare to #2.

Okay. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try out most of them, especially the SH games.

I just finished playing FEAR and its two expansions and I have to say, go for it. Personally, the "scary portions" with Alma became a grind after a bit because I got tired of being scared XD

Only the first one was fairly scary, but the later ones seem to be more about BLOWING DUDES IN HALF with a SHOTGUN. in SLOW MOTION. ahem. Hard to make a game scary when you play as a guy whos main method of movement is drop-kicking.

I also suggest the Fatal Frame/Project Zero series if you can find a copy.

I tried Silent Hill: Homecoming last night (in the middle of the night, alone in my room, with my headphones on and the light switched off). It's pretty nice. I'll try more games tomorrow and in the weekend. I'm planning on buying Borderlands.
