We also hope that this document shows that Crytek has a loyal PC fanbase that wishes to support their work, not rob them of it like the pirates who have constantly damaged our reputation as a gaming platform. Crytek, we care." Note: I consider a pirate to be someone who downloads this leaked build, enjoys the hell out of it, and never purchases the finished product. If you download the leak (which obviously came from some soon-to-be-fired employee at Crytek) and you still buy the game, then your signature belongs on this petition. Good initiative, PC gaming wouldn't be the same without Crytek's glorified tech demos.
Internet petitions. Be it a noble cause, still. Internet petitions.
Except the pirates didn't do anything, it was leaked internally. Like someone else said, it's like dropping money all over the streets and expecting people not to pick it up.
Good initiative, PC gaming wouldn't be the same without Crytek's glorified tech demos.
Think whatever you want of the games themselves, Crytek has been pushing the graphical limits of the PC platform, challenging other companies to measure up. That type of competition yields awesome results for us gamers.
this will only work out if it the thread was as popular as the leak thread also why facebook dammit

Because everybody on facepunch has a facebook account. That's why so many people here criticize it. We need a petition where you can just sign with your email.
ok lets sign thi- oh wait, facebook crap, nevermind
Wow, I'm sorry guys, I didn't know this was only through facebook. I'm working on a fix, hold on.
Was going to join, but asked for my facebook. FUCK NO
I'm not signing but I plan on buying the game at some point. It's like eight on my list of games to buy this year.
Good initiative, PC gaming wouldn't be the same without Crytek's glorified tech demos.
Well it's not their fault that you computer sucks donkey and it's from 1999.
Except the pirates didn't do anything, it was leaked internally. Like someone else said, it's like dropping money all over the streets and expecting people not to pick it up.
Erm. Just hypothetically speaking, releasing the game without DRM would also fit this example. This is more like dropping money all over the street by accident and yelling "Hey, this is mine, it's not for you!" and people don't listen and pick it up anyway.
I'll pre-order as soon as you can on Steam.
Fucking facebook. I hate that shit.

If you want a better petition site, http://www.petitiononline.com/ is always a good one. I approve of the OP's intent.
wow shutup already when crysis 1 came out everyone yelled "TECH DEMO", guess what Crysis 2 isn't some amazing never before seen type game, it's a generic shooter and the only cool thing is the suit functions which were in the first game anyway so shutup, games get pirated, life goes on. people will still buy the game so stop making such a big deal over it, Crytek isn't the best game developer in the world and the graphics are nothing new either

The original Crysis is easily one of the most innovative and well-designed shooters I've played, and I think Crytek is a great developer.
innovative? are you serious? Crysis is a generic shooter, the only innovative thing are the graphics which don't matter much and the suit other than those 2 things, it's got nothing more amazing than any other shooter out there, oh wow aliens and korean how original
Online petitions lead to nothing about 99.99% of the time. I honestly think it would be more effective (and personal) if everyone e-mailed Crytek themselves about their feelings. Nothing says that people care like a swamped Inbox.
oh and there's a difference between supporting a company you like and having a mental breakdown because a game got leaked early
Need facebook, I don't have a facebook account.
Fucking facebook. I hate that shit.
Oh no a social networking site lets be irrational and hate it for doing absolutely nothing to me
Well it's not their fault that you computer sucks donkey and it's from 1999.
You aren't being clever, you are making too many assumptions, the chance that my computer sucks and/or is from 1999 is very slim. So it's most likely your comment will be received as silly, instead as insulting.
I for one enjoyed playing Crysis 2 and I intend to purchase it when I can.
God forbid we support the companies and games that we enjoy. The original Crysis is easily one of the most innovative and well-designed shooters I've played, and I think Crytek is a great developer.
I really hope you aren't seriously calling Crysis "innovative".
innovative? are you serious? Crysis is a generic shooter, the only innovative thing are the graphics which don't matter much and the suit other than those 2 things, it's got nothing more amazing than any other shooter out there, oh wow aliens and korean how original
Why is it generic? From my position, Crysis does several things that very few other games do: 1) First half of the game is populated with expansive, open-world environments that actually allow you to explore where you want. 2) It's one of the few games that says "play how you want" and actually means it. I could tear down the coastline with strength mode on and just wreck encampment after encampment, or I can indulge in sneaking about, spending a few hours per level just traversing the map, quietly taking out any resistance I can find. 3) The graphics are unparalleled, and the sound design is incredibly immersive. 4) Weapon customization on the fly is a concept that I honestly can't think of from any other shooters, and it leads to great tactical decision-making. The story is fairly generic, I'll grant you, but the actual design of the game is pretty damn unique.
