Program For Texture Extract.

So.
Here is a program for texture extraction from games.
Works with any game as long as it's launched stright.
So it means with steam games it's impossible unless you find some way to do so.

This program is like a client for games, You load in game and rip textures from it beign yourself in game.
You can turn on filter mode which will filter textures that are currently in sight.
+ - Next texture
- - Previous Texture
* - Turn on filter
/ - turn off filter
Enter (can be changed) - Tear texture and send it to folder.

[b] Must be used numpad, Numbers on keyboard won't work only on numpad [/b]

First of all you pick game, I picked wrong game which was mirrors edge which i bought yesterday from steam. ANd I can't rip textures from it because it's launching through steam. But eventually I believe I will find way to get them.

Then you set options that you want.
I wouldn't suggest you setting translucent, because of it you can see texture hardly even though good point of it is that you can see where it's used in game.

THen you select texture output.
(It also can replace textures into game without modifying original game files) - Explore that yourself.

This one is 1024x1024 , They are usually ripped in power of two size. Because games use them.

I can't get it to work in any games. I launch the game's exe with it but then it's unclear as to how I get any textures. Your instructions and that video are vague.

yeah I tried to launch mirrors edge steam version but didn't work, so I launched borderlands.
Also that's probably some type of specular map not the texture that you extracted.
make sure it's not steam game.

People have been able to do this forever, you can view the textures in Hammer anyway, they aren't protected. There are GCF openers too.

I think when he says "Steam" games he means any game sold on Steam that uses the Steam Overlay, not just Valve games.
