Ello there, people from the forums. I come bearing a simple question, and would like an equally simple answer. Can I sell the code I get from my Portal 2 Gamestop pre-order on eBay or somewhere? Is that legal? Does it void some sort of EULA that I never agreed to? What's the deal with the set up?
Thanks in advance.
Give it to me instead.
If either of you would be willing to give me $10 for it, so I'm reimbursed for the pre-order costs, I'd most certainly give it to you.
Of course, if any of you remember the RDR pre-order eBay Bonanza... I may get upwards of $100 for it.

Not really, its just a key. Ive pre ordered from them before and you'll get a card for the bonus items, hell I knew the guys at Gamestop and they gave me a bunch of extra ones for the bat and I sold those.

Okay... Great idea. Ask for a ton of the little cards, and sell them on eBay. Thanks.

They get them in stacks of I think 500 wrapped in plastic. I recommend going to the midnight launch and asking for some extras because they are useless to Gamestop afterward anyways.

I always go the day after launch... Because I have things to do at midnight. Like sleep.
Well go there sometime before release and keep checking in, they get the cards eventually. You could do what one of my friends did and go back every couple of days when they have different people there and say you never got your card. That way youll get multiple cards.

I was mostly kidding, but it wouldn't surprise me. Stranger things have happened.

I sold the Baseball bat/pre order demo bonus cards for L4D2 and got $10 for them so you shouldnt have any problems.
With people buying cosmetic in-game hats for $20 each, yes stranger things have happened.
Why would anyone even want the fugly Gamestop skin?

If you do get some would you be willing to raffle some away? Not all of them because you probably want to make money but still.

I like the skin and I will try to get it
You don't like the custom skins, even though you never saw them?

Because they really really like Alien?

Or maybe their parents are construction workers?
Glad I only use my 360 to play DVD's or act as a coaster
can't wait for Valve to add unusual skins

SourceOP will be broke.
So can you select the skins ingame, like TF2? Or will we have details on that around launch?

"TF2 has hats :saddowns:" -A whole LOT of people.
I'm guessing select.

You don't have to go to the midnight launch. I went to GameStop 4 or 5 months after Left 4 Dead 2 was released and they had plenty of the baseball bat codes left over. I only got one for myself, I wouldn't try to make money off them.
What Valve should do is allow us to customise our Portal robots, and have those skins sent to people. It'd be like sprays but more interesting.

That would be boss, especially since the technology to do so is available now.

It has been for years. I'm talking about skins, but customisable bits and bobs would be cool too. I'd prefer to be able to make it myself over using presets though.

I am thinking more of an overlay, like a spray. You use the base skin but can paint on top of it with colors or images to customize them rather than having an ingame spray. Transferring the entire skin would be a waste of resources, although Im not sure if thats what you meant too.
Well I don't just mean a skin, I'm thinking more along the lines of custom chassis kinda like the ones for the preorder bonus, but not shitty.

It reminds me of deep sea cameras and submarines.
