Just to make things clear, this is no scam for getting free steam games it's just for buying more than one copy of a game that is on sale for the same account.
Step 1. Create an alternate e-mail address. (If you already have one).
Step 2. Go to the game you want that is on sale and purchase it as a gift.
Step 3. Enter the alternate e-mail address and make the purchase. Don't accept the gift, just let it nap in the inbox.
Step 4. When the purchase is completed go to "Manage gifts and guest passes". On the gift you sent, it will have the status "Sent".
Step 5. Now rightclick the "Sent" gift and click "Resend". Enter the e-mail address from Step 1.
Step 6. Repeat from Step 2.
And it has been confirmed.
This is old. I did this a bunch when TF2 was $2.50
'How is this good?', you might ask.
Well, when there's a deal up, you can buy the game multiple times and save them on your account for later gifting.

I want Osmos :(
I want crysis :(
I want Osmos :(
It's 2,- even the poorest of the poor could afford that
I want Valve complete pack :(
The steps weren't very clear, and I'm pretty sure Valve will notice if you do this on purpose.
i want l4d2 :(
I want all your money :(
Can you tell your friends that I want one of his HL1's? PM me.
So you're saying if you already have TF2, and you buy another one, it'll be always kept on your account until sent as a gift?
Wow, mind = blown. :what:

You're giving them money for the products, what's there for them to notice?
I have also been thinking about this, but I wasn't completely sure you'd get the games as gifts.

So? What do they care? Do you really think they're going to send an email and say something like "Hey, we noticed you're not really sending your gift. We're going to take it back and give a refund. We care that much."

Updated it so it's more like a guide.

The only illegal thing I can think of being made with this is if someone buys a lot of THQ packs and then sell them at near fullprice when the deal is over for profit.
[editline]05:09PM[/editline]
But people do that for L4D2 4 packs anyway.

Thanks for sharing it then.
You don't even have to make an alternate email. I gift straight to the email thats attached to my steam account.
Wish I had money to do it.
i bought stalker ages ago, and then got a spare copy with the THQ pack, yet it does not show up in my gift menu. Is this normal?

Somebody else said that they couldn't sell the extra copies they got aswell. Apparently the whole "two copies of a game = an extra to send away" only applies to Valve's games.

I think the only games it works double with is Half Life 2 and Episode 1

Only some of the valve games are Extra Copy-able.
Could any one gift me the Valve complete pack with this? :) Or crysis! Or any other game really...
Only some of the valve games are Extra Copy-able.
It says in the Steam Store which ones are, and I think it's L4D, L4D2, Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, and Borderlands. The rest you are fucked on.
It pisses me off because I should've gotten an extra copy of Saint's Row 2 with my THQ pack, and I was going to give it to my friend to show him a happy Thanksgiving but now I can't :(
i want L4D 2 :(
I want Modern Warfare 2 :( Hey i know a Spicychicken :O
I'm trying to figure it out, what are you talking about.
But if this is possible, if anyone can give me L4D1, that would be great.
And today it's very cheap. Only 6 €.
I would really appreciate it. :)

I'm not sure what exactly it is you are trying to figure out. It's all on the OP.

Well, I'm trying to figure it out, how this works.
So if I got this right, it goes like this:
You buy a game as a gift.
You gift it to an alternate account and you DON'T collect the gift.
You resend the gift to an other account.
And BOTH ACCOUNT can actually have the game.
Am I right?
