Second life looks like a pretty fucking awesome game, being that you can code and model things for it for everyone else to see. However this sparks a question. My internet service only allows me to download 170 mb a day or it goes to dial-up speed. How much data would be downloaded on a normal session?

Use something like Internode, or the other companies that are much cheaper. (Not mainstream ones like Optus, Bigpond and Dodo.)

I'm using literally the only possible service. An unlimited download limit is $80 a month +.
Then pay that 80$ if you want to play your fur fag game...
Or set up your own ISP.
I feel bad for the OP. If you want a game that works pretty well at dialup speeds, check out Minecraft. My friend lives in the middle of nowhere, where wireless broadband and satellite internet are blocked by a giant hill and tight clusters of trees... Though still manages to play Minecraft pretty well.
