Me and my friends still play this awesome RTS. Anyone else still play?

I play every now and then. It's fun to keep a small country that looks weak for the whole match then launch 10 nukes in quick succession to cause armageddon.
OMG. Where are my discs? WHERE ARE MY DISCS!!!
/caps
But yeah, this shit will be awesome now that I won't lag.
Absolutely love this game. My disks are scratched to hell though :frown:
I'm more of a Rise of Legends player myself. I love Clockwork Men.
Rise of Legends should have just been Rise of Nations 2.
I loved Rise of Nations. Played LAN at an old friend's house. Good times.

Agreed
Whenever I play with my friends, one always ends up dominating the other two, every time. I got so sick of it that instead of making an army, I shot 7 nukes at the dominating friend and began a nuclear embargo that lasted 7 minutes longer than I wish it had. Then I was destroyed. After the fight one of my allied friends reviewed my strategy in the battle and was shocked to see that I had a mob of Koreans running around doing whatever I wanted them to do. He always had his Russians work on projects individually, and kept watching it because he was so amused by my tactics.
It's a really fun game.
Ah, this game was great. Often would I play it, if only I owned a copy :crying:
Used to play it at a LAN Center before it closed down.
Rise of Nations was a great game, although at times a little fast for my liking. If you didn't built up and expand real quickly the computer would take the whole map from you in the blink of an eye.
I love this game. My piece of shit computer won't install it. There is always an error halfway through, but it was fine on my laptop.
Just played a game with my friends, Medieval age only. The teamwork involved in this game is absolutely satisfying. 3v3's play out like a fucking military history lesson. My two teammates held out against the monster that was one of my enemy's, while I took out the economic powerhouse, cutting them off.
Love this game.
I love this game, but if you go all the way to the Info Age it just becomes "artificial intelligence > spam a billion infantry men at everyone"
My favorite RTS of all time. Rise of Legends can go suck a cock.

The best part.

Best game ever.
EVER.
EVERRRR!!!
I love this game, not as good as War Leaders to me though...
This game looks interesting.
I used to play it too, I think it's still installed on my computer.
We should arrange an internet game, like 8 people on a huge map or something, let me know if it's gonna happen.
great i just came nostalgia
now im going to have to change my pants.
Name your Fictional Modded Nation you made specifically to play in single player!
Game is awesome! full scale warfares are sometimes hard but are very fun onces you did it. made a big map so the players are fighting in the middle instead of in the enemy's city
Really really loved this game, still one of the best RTS for me alongside Age of Empires and Starcraft. 18 Civilizations, massive battles and other awesome stuff. Good times.
Oh fuck, I have this game. It's so much fun. I don't care for Rise of Legends though.
I bought it once, although I've never got into it. Well that's a shame because you guys seem to have a good time with it.
Whenever I was about to lose I'd be a sore loser and launch nukes everywhere to get armageddon, one of my favourite RTS games though.

Totally up for it.
omfg i loved this game back in the day
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this game has a very special place in my heart!
Aah.. the memories. I remember now, long ago when I had just gotten my old pc. It was the christmas holidays. Me and my cousin were playing LOTR on my PS2 when I suddenly hear my mother and aunt making some noise as my father and uncle come through the door. They had two big boxes with them, one was the pc and the other it's monitor. Good times.. the first game I got for it was Rise of Nations.
I remember waiting ages for my uncle to install and set up the pc so I could try it. I remember sitting there at 1-2am, starting RoN for the first time, watching as the cinematic unfolded before my eyes.. it was beautiful. It was the beginning of something great.. it was the beginning of my life as a nerd and gamer.
My dad plays a match of this every single weekend. I prefer Rise of Legends purely for the endgame. I just make one Leviathan and an assload of Juggernauts and kill everything nearby. It would have waayy better if they just made it "Rise of Nations 2: It's the goddamn future!" and made every nation Vinci but swapped unit skins.
