The Unofficial Game Of The Year!

If you’re like me, you will find it annoying that the Golden Joystick awards aren’t actually at the end of the year, and therefore not all of the games that are released in that year are available for the vote.

This is why I propose an unofficial but rather fun game of the year vote.

For now, any game on any platform can be submitted in the categories (except the best downloadable game category, as it has to be a downloadable - Steam doesn't count!), and the ones with the most support will be shortlisted down when the final voting can begin.

For now, here are the categories with some suggestions:

Best Single Player Game of the Year
Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Assassins Creed 2 etc.

Best Multiplayer Game of the Year
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (still think it’s a stupid name),Halo 3: ODST etc

Best Co-op Game of the Year
Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands etc

Best Downloadable Game
Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars! Battlefield 1943, also worth mentioning.

Overall Game of The Year
Any game out this year, but if a Wii game wins it there’s something majorly wrong going on.

Biggest Disappointment
Wolfenstien (definitely my biggest let down)

And just for fun:

Game to look forward to in 2010.
Half Life 2: Episode 3; we can hope! Timesplitters 4; never know! Battlefield: Bad Company 2 etc.
