Halloween Thread - Your Scariest gaming experience

From Doom 3 to Silent Hill 2 I want to hear your scariest ever gaming moments! (And don't make the obvious "Playing Duke Nukem: Forever for the first time, that game was scarily bad!" jokes.)

Was playing STALKER for the first time, in the Agroprom level. First encounter with a bloodsucker, I was on a platform on one side of the room, firing potshots hoping to hit it while it was invisible. Turns out, it had followed me onto the platform, came up behind me and started attacking me all of a sudden, it scared the shit out of me. I then proceeded to empty an entire mag into it at point blank range.
Dreamgate Escape. Read the following text in the light of a torch: If you wanted to survive, you shouldn't have read this.
Cue a screamer. I frantically ran away from the PC and didn't touch it for the next couple of minutes. I was 8, mind you.
I just played Erie and posted this in 3 other threads, but hey why not post it in a forth.
there was this big yellow crotch bleeding shitfuck blocking the allyway so I slid into an air duct. after laughing at him for a while and painting the duct up with my spray can I ran outside. my pants were full of shit already because those things make fucking terrifying breathing noises. then suddenly i came upon a new corridor and a fucking new identical monster comes out of fucking no where and does a goddamn backflip out of it, a few pool of feces has spread itself across my floor so then a ran down the hall and came to a dead end. I paused the game and heard the horrible breathing noises. the fucking noises,
so im at a dead end with possibly two monsters and completely helpless, and there is only two path ways that I could get out of the dead end but I think there might be that back flipping second monster there, and the other path probably has the first one i saw at the air ducts
i still haven't continued
help
Heart of Darkness.
Fuck that game man.
Too much for a young me to deal with.

Condemned when you find that [sp]the body in the locker is alive as you're taking the close up photo[/sp] and also [sp]the mannequin scene[/sp]
I distinctively remember playing Garrysmod 9 in singleplayer on the freespacev6 map, which was rather popular at the time.
Anyhow, there's a large city in the centre of the map and I was building in the centre. After about 10 minutes of building I heard a gun shot and since I was in single player I couldn't work out where the hell it came from.
Then I noticed what I thought to be an NPC in one of the buildings windows, so I no-clipped up to it, only to find it was just a rag-doll with a turret in it's hand. Naturally I was confused as hell as I was playing in single player and I know that I didn't place the rag-doll. The confusion and mystery made this the scariest gaming moment I've ever had. Still to this day I can't work out how it occurred.

maybe the gunshot was from the ambient sounds on the map?
