RUSE Trailer Release Date: TBA RUSE (or R.U.S.E.) is an upcoming WWII real time strategy game for the PC, PS3 and 360 made by the same guys (Eugen Systems) who brought us the RTS Act of War focusing around big battles and real time tactics in the same scale of games like Supreme Commander and World in Conflict. Unlike other RTS game, RUSE's gameplay relies more on you being a strategist to beat the enemy rather than your tactical micromanagement skills. There's also a layer of deception added in. You can employ certain special abilities called ruses to fool your enemy. They include things such as concealing your units with radio silence to deploying fake units into the battlefield. This article from IGN does a better job at explaining the game. It's not just Company of Heroes on a larger scale. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/966/966151p1.html Like in Supreme Commander, you can zoom out to a large view of the entire battlefield: And zoom into the battlefield with World in Conflict-like detail: So it looks pretty promising seeing what they have done so far and grand and the only game that I can think of matching it on a number by number is Supreme Commander. More Screens: Yeah, the units look large in these images, but it's the scaling the game uses to keep it seamless. I'd rather have the units by 1:1 and turn into NATO APP-6A icons as you zoom out. I might plan on getting this when It's released
I don't see what's so special about it.
Looks kind of meh. I hate all that arrow stuff and whatever...I just like standard RTS games.
I don't see what's so special about it.
WW2 RTS with a large scale. Airplanes. Full European map.
Looks liek supreme commander except supreme commander has a battleship/mobile factory on treads. I will probably get this.
If it's basically Supreme Commander except WW2, then it sounds pretty good.
That looks fucking amazing, I love games like these.
WW2 is boring
WW2 is boring
You're boring!
Woa, fucking secksy. Too bad I suck at RTSs.
Sweet mother of Christ.
Looked pretty good, but when I looked at the tactical version, I started having doubts. Strategy part could be pretty cool, and the graphics are nice, but it's going to depend heavily on how the tactical controls and combat are.
They better have a fucking brit side.
this game looks really cool, to me its like a world in conflict and company of heroes combination
Oh your god, this looks amazing.
Looked pretty good, but when I looked at the tactical version, I started having doubts. You're basically commanding a few brigades and regiments. Trying to play the game like EndWar or CoH would get your ass kicked.
I want a table like that. Also, 4000th post.
WW2 is boring
This. We need something else, WW2 is overused. I'd like to postpone all the upcoming ww2 games for 2 years.
This. We need something else, WW2 is overused. I'd like to postpone all the upcoming ww2 games for 2 years.
WW3? most vietnam games failed, and i dont think theres any WW1 or korean war games. but there is a civil war game!
This. We need something else, WW2 is overused. I'd like to postpone all the upcoming ww2 games for 2 years.
Yeah, the only conflicts fresh I can think of right now are the Arab-Israeli Wars, Iran-Iraq War, the Korean War and the Boer War. I guess they didn't want to risk sales or something. Bah, a 1946-2000 timeline would be better, a la Steel Panthers 2. Let's hope there will be mod support.
I want a table like that.
If the gameplay was like that I would die because of the epicness.
The Microsoft Surface table is like that, but 1st generation devices suck ass.
Looks cool. I like how it gives tooltips about how hard the target will be to hit/destroy by your currently selected group of units. Looks pretty cool in whole. Never really loved RTS like Supreme Commander, hope this is a bit different.
WW2 is boring
Yeah I agree, all those WWII RTSes are boring.
This looks awesome.
Considering it's coming out on consoles, it will probably have some console elements in it. Console elements=No-buy for me. Maybe they will have some common sense and develop the PC version separately.
Looks pretty fun, I love RTS taking into a new turn aside from the overused WWII. I love strategies.
