360 Orange Box wtf?? - Games

Ok so just got the orange box for my friend for his xbox 360 (early xmas present since he doesn't have a great pc....it cant even run hl1 lol). And i noticed that valve upgraded the graphics on hl2 original so it looks like Episode 2 but us pc guys have yet to get the update wtf Valve....u suck balls. All the maps are compiled and what not obviously and the HDR tweaked good. So wtf why cant we have it on pc??? this is bull $h1t!! We are loyal customers as well we should get the same treatment. Now i have an idea...would it be possible to rip the maps off of the 360 dvd and just put them on gmod to get the full look and feel as the xbox 360 version (and please dont say get CM10 its a piece of utter $h1t). Thanks guys. Also i am going to make an online petition for valve to do this since they already did it they just need to release it unless they are planing to release the update with Episode 3 making us wait :( I have also made a petition for this. It would be a pretty big download if they were to update it for the PC guys. And CM10's map changes are great. The models and sounds aren't good, but what he did with the maps is awesome.

They're probably holding out to upgrade all the games to the Episode 3 engine. If Episode 3 ever gets released.

Why don't you just decompile the hl2 maps, add HDR in Hammer, then run them in Episode 2?

Yeah man, the new HDR compiles are totally $h1tty for us PC users :downs: When EA got their hands on the porting job, I think they just moved everything up to the next engine iteration. Then used a bit of post processing so that the HDR looks better on the 360/ PS3 renderers. Nothing special, but Valve don't really have the resources to be re-compiling all their maps under the new VRAD.

Do you know why it doesn't look as good on your PC? Your graphics card is old. Boxes please.

Then they also have to go through making sure all the maps work correctly, then send it out through Steam. This becomes a problem when you are working on 3 or so other games really. When they made HL2 they didn't really have much else in development.

Companies never update graphics in games, because if they do then they'll be making lots of players with low tech pc's unable to play the games. If they do anything like that, it's always a separate game.
