Plot Synopsis:
The game gives the player control of an FBI agent named Francis York Morgan who is investigating the murder of a young woman, Anna Graham, near the fictional American town of Greenvale. Upon arriving in the town York is greeted by town sheriff George Woodman and his deputy Emily Wyatt, who briefs him on the murder and leads him to the crime scene. York generates considerable friction with his dismissive attitude toward the locals, bizarre demeanor, and tendency to interrupt conversations to deliver asides to "Zach", an alternate personality congruent with the player. Over the course of his investigation, York has opportunities to touch the lives of many of the town's colorful personalities and intervene in their personal crisis, often brought on by the sudden and brutal murder in their midst, to earn rewards and further his understanding of the case. As he unearths more and more mysteries and the killer continues to roam, the town's dark past, as well as York's own past, slowly come to light.

Infinite machine gun. Best weapon of any survival horror game ever.
my friend was telling me about this game
he says it was hilarious
If anyone wants to see what the game is about, but has no chance of actually playing it themselves, I'd recommend supergreatfriend's LP of it:

It's extremely extensive, he explores every little bit of the game and does a complete 100% go of it.
The story certainly gets really... interesting at the end.
This game is kinda a mix of Plan B from outer space! and Twin Peaks with elements from Plan B including it general awfulness in a good way and the elements from Twin Peaks including everything else.
You forgot this one

Best game
Playing this game made me go back and watch Twin Peaks. It definately is a good game despite having some deep flaws.
Looks like a PS2 game but I heard it was hilariously bad.

How could you forget?
Deadly Premonition is hilarious. I would compare it to The Room and Birdemic, but in all honesty, it's a 10,000 times better than either one of those.
Take two best friends out of there, they're shit and hamfisted and if it wasn't for the fact I love this game would turn me away in a heartbeat.
That aside though this is one of the greatest twin peaks knock offs I've ever enjoyed, SuperGreatFriend on youtube and SA did a LP of it recently showing the game 100% including additional lil side conversations and everything, it's really awesome for those who can't play it themselves.

Also be smart to link to another trailer, or maybe none at all as a huge portion of them contain major end game spoilers for no apparent reason. That and the Rainy woods one has been changed drastically.
Sorry for the bump, but I have been playing this. My god the controls are awkward as shit, the driving sucks dick, and the combat is boring. But all be damned if it isn't interesting for some reason despite having some of the WORST voice actors I have ever heard. The only decent ones that come to mind are Lysander and Francis himself.
I think it's OK if i bump this since i have content.

I heard something about this coming for the ps3. I am so full of hype.

Do you know when this is coming? I have been dieing to play this game since I never owned an xbox. If only EDF 2017 had the same treatment towards ps3 :(.

It never even came out in Australia to begin with, so you know how i feel. I basically ended up watching the entire Giant Bomb Endurance Run. That was funny.

I think it was just a rumor so I am not sure.
Deadly Premonition designer Swery 65 has been teasing a PlayStation 3 version of his celebrated piece of gaming eccentricity for a while, but it’d been a while since we’d heard anything about it.
That changed today, with Rising Star Games confirming Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut.
This updated version of the game, exclusive to PS3, includes new “scenarios,” reworked combat controls, and downloadable content to “expand the mystery beyond the original game.” That sounds like there will be new material for both players who want to play Deadly Premonition a second time (or coming to it for the first time), and content for anyone who wants the closest thing to a sequel.
That we’re even seeing Swerey 65 being given a chance to dip back into Deadly Premonition is impressive enough. I’m curious what the new material will be like. Deadly Premonition was created in a vacuum, and this new content comes after everyone heaped critical but enthusiastic praise on the game. Will that reaction influence what Swery 65 ends up creating?
Guess we’ll find out early next year. The Director’s Cut launches in the first quarter of 2013.
I have a copy of this somewhere. I haven't played it in forever though.
I fucking love this game. SWERY is a pretty charming person too, all of his games are this quirky too, looking forward to picking up the Director's Cut version for my ps3.
I started watching Twin Peaks recently, and I was flabbergast at how much Deadly Premonition takes from it. I had heard that it could be compared to it, but that's the understatement of the century. The game directly lifts scenes and characters from the show entirely.
