In Minecraft's heyday, I would always scout for good servers with my favorite mods. One server I found was HANGOVER's DrunkenMiners. Nice people, good structure, and an amazing spin-off server,
HANGOVER's planes & guns. When I first joined, I didn't know what to do. I was stuck in some kind of ghost town that was supposed to be the spawn area, but showed obvious signs of wear from greifers and the sort.
One player was on, and that was booyah711. He claimed he had base, so after many failed attempts at flying a plane for 50,000 blocks, we reached it.
A good part of HANG's planes was the terrain was specially generated to be mostly flat and at a low level, so it was easy to get good gems and have a nice area for a base. Anyway, he had a small underground base with the basic guns of SDK'S gun mod. We had fun battles with them, and invited more people.
our base was growing, when Minecraft updated. When this happened, I was lost from booyah for a week, until I realized I was installing the mod wrong. So when I came back, many things had changed. booyah had a huge new base since an ex-admin destroyed our old one. Since he was german, he called it Berlin. He also had a new right-hand man who replaced me for a while, tehsosterone(who I like almost equally, but booyah told me he's an IRL lumberjack now.) So we had even more fun adventures, like bombing cities, fighting off hackers(The only admin, HANGOVER, was rarely on since he was normally tending to his other server)
and doing that kind of stuff. But when Minecraft 1.7.3 came, SDK, the gun creator stopped updating. Because of this, Hang put the Planes server on a (I didn't know this then, but it was indefinite) hiatus. Because of this, me and booyah lost contact for an entire year, and after that time, I finally had to look for him.
So while ago, I posted a thread about my lost friend who I (no homo)loved dearly.

We couldn't find him, until I noticed a message sent two weeks ago from him that said he was looking up his name and found the thread.
I was overjoyed. The chance to finally meet my old friend after more than a year was incredible to me! So I joined his server, and we talked for a long time about what had happened.
But as I kept playing the server, I noticed something was different.
He wasn't right. He said "zorz" at the end of 1/15 sentences and said he had totally taken over on that server. He even built me an extremely detailed house.
It sounds fine, but it wasn't. He had changed immensely. Gone was the happy, gun-crazy minecraft player that I once knew, and moved in was this
builder who liked construction more than anything we'd done together, or so it seemed/seems to me. I was losing tolerance for this quickly, I talked to him about it.

That was it. That was the last straw. The fact that he'd take this group of people that weren't HALF as close to him as I was, and pick them over me shattered all respect I had for what he was.
I was so angry, I burned down the minecraft house he hand-built me like a true builder, and left a diary in his mailbox about why I left.
It's been nearly a month now. And the only thing left is memories of the simpler times we'd have. Only memories.
So that's my story. I used to think of him as some kind of positive omen I'd only meet once in my life, but he's done proven that there's no saint on the internet, all good things must come to an end.

Actually it's quite common to become attached to somebody you met online. It seems it started out as another case of some guy being new and having a veteran player helping them out.
You're still right though, because most people don't post about things like this.
