It was started on the May 10, 2009. It's a 3D block based game created in Java, meaning it is browser based. It's currently free, but for custom skins and the new games modes, which have not yet been released, but are in the works, you will have to pay 10 Euros, or whatever the equivalent in dollars is. The price will double when the game is closer to fruition. The game is similar to Infiniminer, but at this point about ten times more popular, so you probably heard of this first. Gameplay consists of: Placing and deleting assloads of different blocks. There's water and lava, both are infinite, water goes fast, lava goes slow. Amazing map generator, too. [B]Single Player[/B] You click singleplayer on the front page and the level is generated, you have deep seas, sandy beaches and rolling hills. Huge cave complex's and beneath your feet, ready for exploration. It auto generates forests and other features. As yo wander the many valleys, you wonder, where are the houses? You right click and band you can now place blocks, press B and you change what block to use! And you can set all the blocks from 1-9, then use the keys to select each one. You build yourself using glass, wood and grand floors. Fun? [B]Multiplayer[/B] This is where the fun kicks in, you join up on the server. Bang in front of you are people all around, grand structures being built. Some of it is truly awe inspiring, you get lost in the maze of buildings, murals and towers. Want to build a megastructure? Now you can do it with friends, meaning you can make it twice as epic in the same amount of time it would of taken you alone. god dammit doomish stop getting banned [editline]09:14PM[/editline] also using a fairly decent laptop so i can play minecraft now :buddy: [editline]09:19PM[/editline] its conspiracy time! when notch finally does add multiplayer, he's going to let us "run our own servers" but in actuality, each server is contributing to help run one huge server supporting everything going on in the whole world. the master server will spawn players with distances varying from 5-50 meters for people joining the same server, and 1-5 miles for people from a different servers. as the different servers of players develope into a community with jobs and cash and trading, they will eventually discover the other servers, and establish server-to-server trades, wage wars, form governments, alliances, and minecraft will eventually be a reminiscence of real life. :tinfoil:

The servers in the OP don't work, and where is Mald's server?

I fucking love this game, when I tell friends about it they think it's the dumbest thing, but they really have no idea on the potential this game has.
