I've just decided to start WoW again and I've been tore between 3 classes Mage,Paladin, and hunter. Once I decide on one I think oh that would be better so I think it would be best for you to decide.
Shaman
3 completely different classes that each have their own unique playstyle that fits some players but not others. Best advice is to level them all up to say 20ish and whichever you like the best carry on with.
Ok then a good starter class?
Mage! Whether it'd be an Undead or Human. But undead is the coolest! I have one of my own, and it never gets boring to time your shatter comps right, FoF'ing critting shit for thousands! Fuck! Another reason why I should buy more gametime but nah.. [editline]01:09AM[/editline] Mage! Whether it'd be an Undead or Human. But undead is the coolest! Warlock is also fun.
Oh cool bugz
Rolled a mage Gunna see how I like it
They're boring till the upper levels. frostbolt frostbolt frost nova frostbolt.
No. No no no. Not mage. If you want a fun, fast leveling class, go Hunt.
Hunter was boring as fuck to me when I RAF'd one with a friend.

Hunter is the easiest starter class to play as
Mage is fast. You never have to buy food/drink, when you get IceBarrier you also don't lose much HP. You can AoE shit so nicely. Frost is the way to go anyway.

Elemental Shamans, Warlocks, Hunters are the most fun imo
Druid for sure. Let me give you some advice. Pure classes are dead, never roll a pure. Hybrids do about the same DPS, except hybrids can heal/tank offspec, and hybrids usually have the best buffs. Also never roll a warrior for pve. Their damage is sub-par and they make the worst tanks in the world. Take it from a healer, warriors are bad.
Shaman, dude. Enhance is so fun. Then, you have choices at 80 to heal, ranged dps, or melee dps.
I've tried all three, but only got my Paladin and Hunter to 80. I found Hunter to be pretty fun, but I found it got kind of old by the time I hit 80. I tried playing my Mage, and promptly discovered I can't play one to save my life, so I played my Paladin. Leveled to 80, I've been raiding and upgrading my gear for a few days now, and it's still loads of fun.

Oh and if you want a pure go for it, don't let this guy stop you. Doesn't matter what you are for pve you'll do fine if you research how to gear and so forth. As for pvp every class has at least one spec thats perfectly viable for arena.
And mages pull ez deeps.

And warriors have very poor AoE threat, so they are almost useless in any higher end content due to multi mob pulls. Also, why limit yourself to only being dps when you hit 80. Every realm is saturated with DPS, but there's never enough healers or tanks.

They have good defensive abilities, such as shield wall. They can also interrupt a spellcaster and cause a good amount of damage with Shield Slam. They also have vigilance which transfers threat another raid member causes to you, and also refreshes your taunt ability if they are hit(which is good for a healer). Also, Paladins have to worry more about Mana, and DKs about runes and runic power. A warrior doesn't worry about rage near as much, since the more damage he takes(and as a tank you are supposed to be taking all the hits) the more rage he generates. So the more times he is hit(and since they have a lot of abilities that are very defensive and lower damage) the better he is at keeping threat, even against many mobs. They are different, and they can be considered under-powered, but they are fun nonetheless, and they are a great choice for a tank if the person knows how to play the class. A druid might be able to out-dps a mage in some cases but it isn't just damage, but how much is done at certain intervals in a fight.
I do not want mage. I tried to like it but didn't fit my play style so I'm up for suggestions again.
I do not want mage. I tried to like it but didn't fit my play style so I'm up for suggestions again.
Paladins are fun. They get some cool spells and abilities. However, the game has a ton of Paladins so it can be harder to find a guild or raid as one at times. Hunters are also easy as fuck to level and have some cool stuff they can do(having a pet is pretty cool and using a bow or gun as your main weapon is a bit different than using spells or melee weapons).
I'll try hunter what race should I go with?
Whatever race you want. I don't think it matters all that much.
Just because a warrior doesn't have as many AoE threat abilities than a Paladin doesn't make them unviable(and they do have a few anyways, cleave, thunderclap, and shockwave are good AoE threat abilities).
It's not the number they have, it's how effective they are. Druids have a "swipe", so do frost DKs. Paladin's, warrior's and blood DK tanks all have their own version of cleave. The difference is, DK tanks also have disease agro, and paladins have consecration. Swipe in itself is good enough to take agro from a large group of mobs.
They have good defensive abilities, such as shield wall. They can also interrupt a spellcaster and cause a good amount of damage with Shield Slam.
Paladin's have divine protection, which isn't as good as shield wall, but only has 60% of the cooldown. Every tank can interrupt. DK's have mind freeze + strangulate. Pallys have HoJ + avenger's shield. Druids have bash.
They also have vigilance which transfers threat another raid member causes to you, and also refreshes your taunt ability if they are hit(which is good for a healer). Also, Paladins have to worry more about Mana, and DKs about runes and runic power.
Divine plea gets refreshed every time you melee, and Dks don't have to worry about rune power since most of their abilities also use runes. Plus Dks usually max out on rune power during a fight anyway. Also, if a raid boss hits your healer, your healer will die, doesn't matter if the taunt is refreshed. A small percent of one person's threat in a 25 person raid isn't all that much.
Every class is designed to be able to do their job, right? just because paladin's use mana doesn't mean they go OOM a lot, they have a lot of ways of getting it back. Bears get rage whenever they dodge or crit.
They are different, and they can be considered under-powered, but they are fun nonetheless, and they are a great choice for a tank if the person knows how to play the class.
The simple fact is, warriors have poor AoE threat, poor mitigation, and few buffs. Only frost DKs can give you improved icy veins. Only prot pallys can give blessing of sanct. Only a feral druid has leader of the pack.
A mage has good CC and also good AoE DPS, they are far from dead as a DPS class. A druid might be able to out-dps a mage in some cases but it isn't just damage, but how much is done at certain intervals in a fight.
Shamans also have a retarded amount of CC, so do druids. But they're both hybrids. Frost shock, frostbrand weapon, grounding totem, hex, thunderstorm + wind shear Cyclone, nature's grasp/entangling roots, pounce, maim, bash, typhoon. With the recent AoE nerf, chain lightning just got a bunch better Hurricane is basically the same as blizzard. Druids also have swipe.
Rolling a dwarf hunter. Haft to see how I like it.
