I've got an idea for the "3D cube" desktop change effect in Ubuntu, but I need a picture of the top, bottom, side of any blocks in Minecraft. I'd prefer the dirt block, but if I get a few, AND my idea works, I'll post pictures. Also, completely unrelated, does anyone know how to make it so that whenever I left or right click while playing Minecraft in Ubuntu, the mouse stops appearing? Because right now whenever I click I can see the mouse for a brief second, and it's really annoying.
An easy way for you to obtain the pictures yourself, would be the following.. Find your Minecraft.jar, open it up with a program which is similar to winrar(Not sure what you use on an Ubuntu), and look for the file called "Terrain.PNG", which is the file responsible for all the block textures in the game, so that should have everything you need.
Might as well, I'm feeling creative anyway. On another side note, is minecraft.net down for anyone? Because I JUST deleted my old minecraft.jar and was about to get the new launcher. I had to use the old one because I couldn't connect via https, but now I've got my network bridge all sorted out, but the site is down. :saddowns:

Damn. Anyone have the new launcher for linux, and can throw it my way? I just found out that I don't need the launcher (duh) to see the terrain.png, but I'd like the play the game now.
its 16x16 images, just scale up the terrain.png one linux it should be in home/username/.minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar extract it and a terrain.png should come up (nb .minecraft might be hidden)
