So I picked up GTAIV in the Christmas Sale and eagerly awaited for it to finish downloading, mainly so I can use mods to have some ragdoll fun with the Euphoria engine.
So, I looked around on the internet and learned what I needed to do, I needed to put an ASI loader into my main GTAIV directory ([b]C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV[/b])
So then I downloaded three mods I was interested in, the readme's told me to put the asi. files into my main GTAIV directory, seems simple enough, so I put those three in there.
... GTAIV won't launch now, I double click and the launch window comes up, I hit play then it crashes out saying it did it for my own good, something about data protection? If I take the mods out it will play fine, but I wanna play it with mods!

Reinstalling GTAIV
Downloading different mods (It does it for all of them)
Using a different ASI loader (been through about 5 now)
Using a command in .cmd to disable the data protection
Going into the options for the data protection to allow GTAIV, it basically said that I can't change it for that game.
Facepunch I'm at a loss, I'm willing to try any and all ideas, please help!

Right, okay thanks! Do you know how to check what mods are for what version? Or is it a guessing game?
If you have Vista make sure you run the game as administrator and through LaunchGTAIV.exe
That's how I got it working.
Well I followed that thread to the letter, it didn't work, the .asi loader and things work, ScriptHook ect. I can run the game with them in the directory, but the second a mod gets dropped in there it refuses to run even when it's for 1.0.4.0.

I ran the game through LaunchGTA.exe as admin, still crashes. This is unbelievable!
What mods are you trying to install? Links?
