Is Playstation Plus worth it? - Games

Play Station Plus. A subscription based system for the Play Station 3, that costs 50 dollars a year. With Play Station Plus you get free shit, such as Play Station 1 games, Free DLC, Free Themes, and Wallpapers, Free Arcade Games, and Demos plus Betas early. I "Niko Bellic" have a Xbox 360 which I have a Gold Membership for, and Gold Membership costs about 50 dollars as well(Play Station costs 50 dollars). Should I spend 50 dollars on Play Station Plus when I already have a Gold Memebership for Xbox 360? [highlight](User was banned for this post ("Choose for me" - Orkel))[/highlight]

You get more with PS3 than with 360. Pay $50 to M$ and you can now play the multiplayer portion of the game you already payed for in the store. And you still have to pay for DLC and other content afterwards. Pay Sony $50 dollars and you get a bunch of content that may exceed your initial investment. And you don't have to pay for multiplayer again.

Here's a pretty simple formula you [B]may[/B] be able to comprehend, OP: If value of DLC/games/items/shit you want on the PS Store > $50 then yes, get it.

I guess there is nothing wrong with paying 50 dollars for cheap thrills and small amusements. I personally don't care about Playstation plus, I don't play demos, I already know if I will like a game or not, as for free shit, I personally don't care for it.

I think that even you would find it disappointing even if you just wanted it for the free swag. This is just my opinion though, I'm not really much of a gamer, I just buy those certain games for the single player experience, and if the multiplayer is tits, ill stay dedicated, otherwise I don't turn on the consoles until a fresh game is out.

Yes, and this is coming from a person owning a 360 only. I mean, XBL now cost $60 a year(U.S), and that gives you online multiplayer, Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, mostly things that are on the computer/PS3/Wii/iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad/Android for free, but Microsoft separates it to single things and charge you for it. So basically, remove the shit you can get online on another place(PS3/laptop), and you paid $60 a year for earlier demos, and online multiplayer. PSN+ gives you free shit, like what they said, free games, DLC, PS1 games, and even if you don't have PSN+, you can still play online(for now).
