Should I stop it now and restart it? That doesn't seem very normal to me. And if I recall, something similar happened my GMod download, and it ended needing to be reinstalled. :sigh: Any help would be much appreciated.
I think it's because you already have a game using the steam engine, It dosen't need to download it again. Also, how fast is it downloading, when I downloaded CS:S it was slow as hell.
you probably already have the files in your steam folder if you've installed it once before.
I haven't installed it before. And yes, I have several games using the steam engine. Unless of course, I am mistaken as to what the steam engine is.
probably cause you have some source games already. my hl2 started at like 40 cause i had gmod and tf2 installed. edit: "steam engine" = source games. yes, rate me late.
Ah okay. I have a few other source games. L4D/2, HL2, TF2, etc. Well it's nice to know I won't have to redownload a shit load of data. Thanks for the help guys.
Left 4 Dead 1/2 don't count because they use a different file format and don't share files.
CS:S was ny first steam game but it oddly started at 80% even though i had no source games.
CS:S was ny first steam game but it oddly started at 80% even though i had no source games.
Steam foresaw you buying CS:S and preloaded it for you.
This happened with torchlight demo, started at 40%
When I bought FO3 it started at 97%. Man that was a LOOOONG 3 %
Same happened to me with GMod. I have no idea why, I manually deleted the GMod folder so it would reinstall correctly and then it started at around 50%. Worked fine though.
Files that are used in game are already on computer. There
Considering Source makes up 3/4's of any of VALVe's games, the download is going to start at probably 40%-60%. It's totally normal, so just keep downloading.
Mine does this too. I have a feeling that it's because I've allready downloaded the Source Engine and that it then skips it in the downloading process.
