After having a good year and a half break from WoW I decided to have a look at the (not anymore but) new stuff that's in the Lich King expansion.
My payments were prepaid cards (never payed by credit) and I was just about to go purchase one, then an idea came into my head. I want to know if it's possible to re-open an old account with a free month trial of such.
So instead of a 2 month overpriced time card, can I use a free month trial to start up my old account and get a month to play the game? Seems like a cheap way to get playtime on your account, but is it possible?

Awhile back they sent out emails to inactive accounts with a free 7 days.
If you don't have one, get one of those $25 (If you are in the US that is) and just renew with that. Then you still have $10 left to spend on w/e you want.
Also, you will need to merge your WoW account to a [url=http://www.battle.net]Battle.net[/url] account.
Yes, someone can cast "Scroll of Ressurection" on you which gives you a month or something in free gametime, it also gives the person casting it on you a free month if you buy a gamecard.

I thought the scroll of resurrection only worked on Classic accounts, (ie, no Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King).

It does only work for classic accounts. My account couldn't be resurrected when my friend tried to
Its probably because it only works on accounts that have been inactive for 90+ days
