• Crysis on Steam can't run at 64 bit?
    5 replies, posted
I bought Crysis Maximum Edition on steam and in the Crysis directory, in bin64, there are not .exe files to run the game in 64 bit. I have win7 x64 ultimate. I've searched around, but all I found are complaints, no solution. Does anyone have the steam version and have encountered this problem? Can anyone help? I've seen some say that they downloaded the bin64 files from somwhere, but where? I want to run on 64 bit, they say it's alot faster.
Steam is not supporting the x64 version yet but like you said, due to all the complaining and such, Valve should update it eventually. If you don't get good FPS on x86, the performance boost won't be huge. anyways.

I ran it on Windows 7 x64 ultimate, but it wasn't on Steam. Edit: Ah it was answered.

If downloading the bin64 files DO work, then if anyone does anyone have the retail game and willing to upload the bin64 files, can u upload them? If not, do you know where i can get the bin64 files? Anyway, I've pretty much given up hope on the "update" for the 64 bit files because I've found out posts dated in 2008 that an update was coming to fix this steam problem. Well, if you know your time, it's 2010 right now. Good grief, i'm pretty sure that update's never gonna come. That's why I'm looking for alternate solution --> download the bin64 files. I've searched for the bin64 files, but they come up as pirated stuff. I'm not looking for "crack" this and that, i just want those files in the bin64 folder, nothing else. No crack, no nothing. I have heard some people say that they got the 64 bit to work on Steam by downloading a Crysis.exe, so now i'm looking to do the same.
As I already told you, the performance boost is not huge, sometimes not even noticeable. You should be fine with the x86 version.
