okay its hard to explain but i want Orange Box for my engine versioin so i can buil off ep2. but i cant find a place to download orange box for sdk........ soooo i also try to go to engine version 2007 to build off ep2 but when i go File\new\ there is nothing there so i cant build.

He's saying he owns The Orange Box and Source SDK, but can't use the source SDK to build maps for Ep2, only Portal and TF2.
Try reinstalling Source SDK. And just to be sure, you have the legal version of Orange Box and Source SDK, right?
Use the 09 Engine, it's better and works.
Yeah, 09 is much better.
Seen as none of these people helped you with the actual issue. If you can't see the grid you have to manually select Source 2009 and edit game configurations. Click Add and name it HL2:EP2 or equivalent and manually set up the folders.
