Lately I have been keen to softmod my old classic Xbox. I am able to put saves from my PC to my xbox however I'm not sure what games you can get the exploit saves to do it. If anyone knows an website or anything helpful to help me softmod it I would be greatful as I have not had much luck doing it myself.
Wasn't it Splinter Cell.
I know you can do it with splinter cell and 007 Agent under fire but I don't own either of those games. I'm hoping that there is one for a game that I do own.
Mechassault also works.
If you know what you're doing, you can also hot-swap HDD's between your PC and the XBox - please look it up before doing it though!
A lot of people are apparently glad to softmod others' xboxes for free according to a wiki page i found a while back :D

Make sure you computer can support PATA/IDE also, newer motherboards only have SATA.
with the right equipment i can have a fully working softmod with extra programs up in less than 8 minutes
yeah i've had some practice (gone through six xboxes, most of them donated, others bought for cheap)
also for those of you who know what you're doing, unleash evolution or xbmc?
I hate evolution, unleash is for my serious gaming, and xbmc for.. well, being a media center.
I've done it. I had to find a gameshark thing for the xbox that had the memory card adapter to USB so i can load the files. I cost me around 30 bucks to do. But it is worth it. Then i connected it to my router and did FTP to upload files to the xbox. It was fun for a while.
Is there any way of doing it without the games with the exploited saves and without messing about with HDs?

Massive bump, but I eventually softmodded my xbox with the hotswap method, got the EEPROM, then upgraded the HDD to an 80 GB I had laying around, now running as an awesome media centre.
