It's a hack&slash with character customization. [B]What does it play like, exactly?[/B] At it's heart Darkspore is a Co-Op game, it plays similar to Diablo, but the loot mechanics are different (you collect bodyparts, not items). Hmm, I really get the feeling that this is going to fail. The spore division of EA is a bit fucked, and even if this isn't made by the spore division, I'm still waiting for the DLC and expansion packs to come rolling in. As you can tell, I don't like EA that much.

I know how spore was. I got hooked on the realism and rpg parts of it. I still want my money back.

I actually liked spore, unlike most people. And I actually like the darker feel this one has.

It would be awesome if they made a game like Spore, just a lot more complex and advanced. There isn't much known about Darkspore yet, we can only hope they won't fuck it up hard like they did with Spore.

Maxis need to make a fucking amazing game if it's got connections to Spore to not get laughed at again.

It looks meh, why can't they just try making the spore we all want?

It really looks like Diablo (which is a good thing), and it doesn't look too bad, but what will make or break the game will be the :science: (AKA how you upgrade and modify your heroes).

I hope they don't fuck it up like spore.

Looks cool, I wasn't that hyped with Spore so it was pretty fun for what it was.

Why is everyone saying this is what Spore was going to be before it got turned into a family friendly game? It's nothing like the original concept of Spore beside being able to get parts and make creatures and having enemies randomly generated. The levels aren't even random from what I got from the video, you replay the same levels.
