Splinter Cell, the game series that if you don't know about, you've been under a rock for years. I picked this up yesterday on the steam sales, and played it for a bit and it reminded me how awesome it is. So what is it? Splinter Cell is a game that puts you in the place of Sam Fisher, an agent working for a black-ops branch called Third Echelon in Summer 2007. Sam Fisher is dispatched to locate Bruce Morgenholt, a computer programmer who worked on deciphering Phillip Masse's algorithms. In the first Splinter Cell game, Sam Fisher assassinated Masse. The algorithms Masse used to launch his attacks on America were studied by the United Nations. These are said to be the super-weapon of the 21st century and Sam is tasked with making sure they do not fall into the wrong hands. So what makes this game unique? One of the main things would probably be the stealth, this game isn't a run and gun type game. The stealth mechanics in this game surpass any other that I've played while you have a huge selection of athletic moves to pull off to sneak past, or silently take out your obstacles. While using these moves you also have a selection of weapons and gadgets to help make life easier including shock rounds to fry someone, or a sticky camera to see in places you shouldn't. The weapons you get will also help, but not only when you're in trouble and been caught as you're armed with a silenced pistol. The pistol has a gadget on it where if aimed at lights it can temporarily disable them - because the shadows are your best friend in this game. In some missions however you may not be able to use your armed weapons due to reasons like civilian enemy's who aren't to be harmed or a gas leak which will blow your ass to hell and back. This game also has some kick ass coop multiplayer as well has versus multiplayer which isn't that good. However in coop you'll be able to go through a whole new, decent length of a story with a friend while still being able to pull off all the moves in single-player as well as more - for example a friend rappelling you down a wall. Now for some images. I recommend you do, whether you've played it before or not. Because it's definitely worth another play. Here is the steam link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/13570/ This game is a steal for that price.
I made a group to make it easier for us to organize matches. Announcements and events are open to everyone so feel free to schedule some stuff. Bought it a while back, it was defiantly a good investment. Great game. Displace and Bank are my favourite missions.
This game has some jolly good humor in it as well. I got it gifted to me by SHITBULLET <3
I've played this so much. I love messing with the AI.
Ah yes, this game. Loved fucking around, the coop was fun too.
Ah yes, this game. Loved fucking around, the coop was fun too.
That's an awesome technique.
I've got this on Xbox. Co-op is great, especially when you yell at the guards.
There's a lot of fun gameplay for the low price that they're selling it for on steam. I highly recommend buying this to anyone who might be considering it.
Wow a real ninja
After playing this game so much, I like to try and complete the missions either: As stylishly as possible or Without killing or KO'ing anyone.
I've done many missions with a 100% success rating :buddy: Fucking sweet game. I already own it on the xbox, should I get it to the pc as well?
I've done many missions with a 100% success rating :buddy: Fucking sweet game. I already own it on the xbox, should I get it to the pc as well?
Well there's not much different, unless you have someone to play coop with online then I don't think there's much point.
Argh, damn my lack of funds :(
Musics are awesome.
Looks awesome. I loved the other Splinter Cell games so immah buy it now :v:
or a gas leak which will blow your ass to hell and back.
Goddamn i hated that part.
Chaos Theory and Pandora Tommorow were some of the best multiplayer experiences of all time. Although I do think Pandora Tommorow was better because of its' billions of glitches.
Gonna buy it on steam tonight, does it still have multiplayer?
After playing this game so much, I like to try and complete the missions either: As stylishly as possible or Without killing or KO'ing anyone.
This is exactly what I do. I bought it from Steam and I've started to replay all the missions. So far I've done the first one without killing anyone except the last guy on the lighthouse. Which I did very dramatically The best stealth game is the one where you can go through the entire game without firing a shot.
We should attempt to play Multiplayer over hamachi sometime. I've tried co-op with friends and that's amazing but I've never gotten to play Multiplayer.
The only level I can't get 100% on is the Bathhouse. I can't sneak through a warzone... wait.
I remember playing the first Splinter Cell on the PS2, it was fun. Nice thread, by the way :v:
"Crowbars are for geeky video game characters" [editline]12:34AM[/editline] o shit looking at the screenshots makes me wanna play it again
The only level I can't get 100% on is the Bathhouse. I can't sneak through a warzone... wait.
I was silent on bathouse and I got like 70%. Then I ran through it shooting people and got 67%
This game also has some kick ass coop multiplayer as well has versus multiplayer which isn't that good. Versus was fun as hell! Shame the player count is kind of low (although I can image what a mess 6 vs 6 can turn out to be on that warehouse level.
Really OP? Versus is an excellent gamemode. Versus: In versus its the shadownet spies versus the mercs (2 players max for each team). The spies (played in 3rd person) have to complete the objectives (hacking computers, stealing cds/harddrives ect) and the mercs (played in 1st person) have to stop them. The spies have no leathal weaponry and can only kill mercs by jumping on them, pullling them off ledges or breaking their necks. How ever they have a tazor to stun the mercs and wide variety of non-leathal tools such as cloaks, sticky cameras, alarm snares, spy bullets (tracking devices(and listening to their mics)), smoke and flash grenades. The mercs however have mines, granades, tazors, spy traps and more. A game as spies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ham_gzCgbYY A game as mercs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3stMC5KKQHg&feature=related
No one likes Mercs with the fancy gadgets though. People complain using the Uzi lags their pc, the shotgun is OP, so you have to use rifle. Also most people on verses don't even speak English goddamn.
Fuck, I love this game so god damned much, not sure if I'm gonna buy ut yet. If I do, would anyone fancy some good old fashioned versus?
I loved the bank mission, I got 100% "Lambert, now that i'm holding 50 million bucks, I think it's time to talk about that raise again." "25 cents an hour and not a penny more!"
"Deal."
Actually does anyone near australia wanna to play co-op, I still need to finish the last two co-op missions.
