• Relic Loves To Milk

For those of you who play DOW2, it seems that every time Relic adds a new faction, they release a new expansion. For the original DOW, it had 3 expansions, first they added the IG, then 4 more factions in DC, then 2 more in Soulstorm (which was short lived). I guess now they've learned they're lesson, so they've decided to do it one at a time. Imagine Relic releasing 5 more expansions! I'd really be milked dry! Thanks a lot Relic. I'd prefer they update the original game with more stuff instead of releasing so many expansions. And make it cheaper too. inb4 no one is forcing you to buy, but I'd hate to keep on playing an outdated version. stop reading my earlier comments. Scroll down.
relic should make it so we can buy hats for our commander
Thanks a lot Relic. I'd prefer they update the original game with more stuff instead of releasing so many expansions. And make it free, like Valve does for TF2.
Because patching in a new faction + campaign takes just as much work as making a new weapon for TF2, right?
Because patching in a new faction + campaign takes just as much work as making a new weapon for TF2, right?
Yeah, but don't you wish you wouldn't have to pay so much every time? [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] They've actually got it all done. They're just releasing them one by one to milk it further. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] Anyway we paid quite a lot for the original game.
That's what the game market is today, milk milk milk. That's how it is because it's the most profitable. Same type of deal with Day 1 DLC bullshit (and DLC in general, really.) It sucks, but it's not gonna change for the devs who are on that buisness bandwagon.
They didn't add 4 Factions in Dark Crusade, can you not count or something?
you know actually its just new units with new weapons. Kinda like TF2 updates. And no one gives a shit about singleplayer This milking is bad for them, because it might work well initially, but people will get sick of it soon.

The reason this bandwagon has been around for ages is because people are actually dumb enough to tolerate it, pay for it and hence support it. They're not gonna change it.
wait, they had chaos rising and retribution finished when they released DoW 2 [editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
you know actually its just new units with new weapons.
inb4 no one is forcing you to buy, but I'd hate to keep on playing an outdated version.
Uh, that's your fucking problem. Relic is a bro-tier company.
Ok how about you say that about something like Nintendo or Square Enix, and leave poor Relic out of this.
Yeah, but don't you wish you wouldn't have to pay so much every time?
Yes, 30 euros is really gonna bankrupt me! Dearie me, whatever shall I do?
They've actually got it all done. They're just releasing them one by one to milk it further.
Ah, I see you finally got that tinfoil hat?

You think they start working on it after releasing something? Trust me, they've finalised most of it, just waiting to be released and milked. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
Uh I rarely play rts multiplayer sp is all I care about in any rts.
Really? Or are you just trying to disagree with me? Anyway its the multiplayer thats a draw.
You're a rich bastard. Yup. You think they start working on it after releasing something? You've no idea what goes into a video game shut up
It isn't, I play Singleplayer because then I have a guarantee that I'll be playing a challenging, thought-out game rather than against someone who found out that if you spam Ogryns you can win.
In other news, evil corporations make money.
It isn't, I play Singleplayer because then I have a guarantee that I'll be playing a challenging, thought-out game rather than against someone who found out that if you spam Ogryns you can win.
yeah but you gotta play multiplayer sometime. Not everything is ready to ship, but they have probably finalised most of it. Just needs polish. I'd rather they'd take time to produce an expansion pack that includes more, instead of shipping them one at a time.
It's not like they're going to work their asses off for hundreds of hours to release free shit. They're a business, not a butler giving you everything you want.

You've no idea what goes into a video game shut up
like you do. They can recycle old DOW stuff. Update the textures, models etc. Abilities, just rename existing abilities from other factions, which keeps it balanced. A few particle effects and sprites here and there. Easier said than done, but its possible to have 6 more factions by the end of the year. Just not 6 more expansion packs. Maybe 2. So shut up. :D [editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
It's not like they're going to work their asses off for hundreds of hours to release free shit. Its just my blunt, impolite and direct style of writing, you've gotta excuse me for that.

Talk about fucking ungrateful.
you really are completely fucking clueless as to how the development process works, aren't you
They release new factions in expansions because making 8+ factions takes a long time.

Honestly, I could care less about milking dlc as long as they release some content for free, like LittleBigPlanet. Also OP doesn't know how game development works.
stop commenting on my earlier posts. Scroll down. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] most of you don't get it right now, maybe its a communication error on my part. anyway, you'll understand soon enough. Just don't be too late. Retribution is 6 brand new campaigns, in my book that's pretty good value considering Blizzard is going to charge us 3 times for the entire of Starcraft 2.
