Been looking for some new mods to occupy my time, and I was wondering what Facepunch recommends. I'm downloading a few at the moment but I would like to know what some of the better ones are. Any recommendations?
Nightmare House 2
Good for an hour or so of wasted time
Obsidian Conflict 1.35
We have one of these thread every week.
Use search, for god's sake.

Oh calm down.
Hidden Source for sure.I Spent many hours shitting myself as the last IRIS. Just wish the mod team didn't abandon it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as frustrated.

Eh, its fine.
Truth is I tried to search several times but it never showed up because none of the wordings I used had words over 4 letters :v:

That's a pretty terrible mod.
MINERVA, G-Mod.
Resistance & Liberation Alpha 4.
Smooth animations, good models, awesome maps.
And there always seems to be a bigger amount of teamwork compared to other HL2 mods. Especially on Eglise.
Sven coop all the way.
Edit: Or better yet, they hunger on sven coop.
hl1
Sven Co-op
Scientist Slaughterhouse
They Hunger
Wanted
Azure Sheep
Half-Life: Visitors
Absolute Redemption
Point of View
USS Darkstar
All classics. Shit, I'm feeling all kinds of nostalgic writing these down.
hl2
Minerva
Research and Development
There are shitloads of more good mods for both games, but these are the ones that I could think of
Pirates Vikings and Knights II.
Seriously that mod is at Valve level of quality.
GoldSrc:
Single-player:
Paranoia (read the instructions carefully - this game can get you VAC banned if you don't)
Point of View (although some of the maps are ass)
Reissues
Life's End
I think that G-Invasion is very funny, but it's not exactly what I'd call good.
Multiplayer:
Natural Selection
Science and Industry (Deader than shit, though)
The Specialists
Source:
Single-player:
Research and Development
Minerva
Multiplayer:
Fortress Forever (although it's best not to bring up the subject of TF2 with most of the players. They're rather sore over it)
Pirates Vikings and Knights II
Zombie Master
I bolded my favorites for easy reference. Hope this helps.
Hidden Source is fuckin amazing but you need players.
It's best played at LANs, where you can guarantee a full match, online you might get 3 people playing.
HL2: Resistance and Liberation if you're a WWII weaboo like me
Synergy. It's buggy as all hell but it can be pretty funny sometimes, it's also very simple and easy to use as well.

Paranoia wont get you VAC banned...

Yeah I think he's just being paranoid.
[sp] In all seriousness it can and will. [/sp]
The HOT QUESTION about SAFE PLAY: I've heard that playing your mod is a big risk for my STEAM account. The playing PARANOIA online can make my STEAM account banned by VAC. Is that true?
Answer: The anticheating services WILL NOT BAN YOUR ACCOUNT IF YOU PLAYING OUR MOD ONLINE. The VAC will detect opengl32.dll as a cheat in case if you will try to play another HL1 mod (CS1.6 for example) online on the server with VAC protection. We have NO PRECEDENT that some account was banned, because VAC just prevent you from playing on the server with anticheating protection. If you want to play online with other HL1 mods, just delete opengl32.dll file (or replace it to other detectory), but don't forget to put it back when you want to play PARANOIA. Without opengl32.dll in the Half-Life folder, the new graphic effects in PARANOIA will not be available. .
umm, might want to correct yourselves
NeoTokyo was a great multiplayer mod, but is nearly dead now.
Afraid of monsters:DC. Possibly one of the best

If you put the folder in the wrong place, like in the hl1 folder then try to run hl1 online, yes you will get banned. But from just playing paranoia singlerplayer you wont.
