As the thread states I am getting a XBOX 360. I would like to know some tips on the thing so it does not blow up. And what games should I get. Looking near the 20$ and under price range, don't mind used games either. And I will buy XBOX live so no need to say that.
it wont blow up if you don't do stupid shit to it like:
leave it on after you play something and leave the room
Don't play it for around 12 hours or longer (you have problems if you play that long anyway)
If you haven't gotten it yet on the Pc, Get the orange box. Also reccomend Crackdown because it's a fun sandbox game (Plus the Free DLC pack gives you a Better sandbox mode where you can do tons of extra shit way faster and it's fun)
I also reccomend MW2 if you haven't gotten it too. It has fun multiplayer and Singleplayer. I heard Bayonetta got good reviews too on the 360 but i only played the demo so i can't really say if they are true or not.
I guess you could pick up Fable 2 cheap nowadays. Also Saint's Row 2 and GTA4 if you're into those type of games. You should defiantly look into MW2 and Halo 3, no matter what people say. Don't bandwagon. A lot of people say "Oh, mainstream media, blah blah blah, it sucks!", but most of FP didn't even give these games a chance because the MAJORITY believes that the game sucks.
If you look at the Games on Demand section of the marketplace, you'll find a handful of good $20 games. Of course, Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3 are good choices for multiplayer. If you want a good, cheap multiplayer game, then get Battlefield: Bad Company. The sequel for this is just around the corner so it's population's going to dwindle.
If you're into single player, all of the JRPGs are decent, as well as the obvious (Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Borderlands). Single player FPS's I found good were Condemned 2: Bloodshot and The Darkness. GTA4 is also a good choice, especially if you have a few friends to play with.
Just browsing through the games tab in the marketplace can also give you some ideas on which games to get if you have a hard time choosing.

Funnily enough I did both of those and despite some major overheating, it was fine after I left it off for a few hours :v:

Those are the beat 360 exclusives. Get them.

Condemned isnt exclusive, its on PC too
Oh yeah, that one sneaks by everytime. But it's still a game to not miss
You should focus on exclusives a little, seeing as how a lot of games (Oblivion, Dragon Age) are better on a mid to high end computer.

Condemned 2 sucks ass, don't get it.
It's only pro is that the combat is better than the original, but it is still sooooo bad compared to the original.

No they're just bad. I have played both. They are both horribly overrated. I almost wish less people hated these games so that the fanbase can't use "omgomg bandwagon" as an argument.

They're both pretty damn average. At least the original Gears had great online, but they over-complicated and ruined it in the sequel (reminds me of MW2 in that respect). At least it has that Horde mode to redeem it though - that's quite a lot of fun with a few mates. I really can't find any good feature in ODST. It puts me to sleep.
