"Failed to contact key server" When launching ME 1

So I bought Mass Effect during that sale that was going on and when I press "Play" and select "Play Mass Effect" a pop up comes up saying "Failed to contact key server." I have tried to launch the game from the game folder, restarted steam, deleted client registry blob, ect. I really want to play this game.

Are you using windows 7 or vista [b]not[/b] XP?
And are you playing in Administrator? Some people forget that.

Same thing happened to me. I just restarted Steam and it worked.
Funny enough I can run Dragon Age at a good 20 FPS but I can run the first Mass Effect at more than 5 FPS. It's a crazy world.
