If you didn't already have an Xbox, does the new 360 sound appealing to you? Would you get it?
I never took a glance at the old Xbox's due to the RROD thing. But now that this new one came out, I've been throwing a few glances its way. Still not sure if it's worth it but I might pick one up to see how it is.
No, i would not.
Well, definitely. It's the same price as the old one, and is smaller, looks nicer, and has better features. You'd be dumb to not, if you were planning on getting one. However, I have a normal one, and I'm not going to upgrade.
I am fine with my current one.
Most likely, since once a new model comes out, the stores I buy my games from don't stock the older models.
im not gonna spend another 300 bucks when mine works fine
I don't need it to play future games, so no.
To be honest I think it's daft you wrote off the 360 just because of the RROD. I have never had any problems with my 360 at all, but to answer your question even though I do have a 360 yes I will be getting the new one.
I need a bigger hard drive
Moving to Uni soon so the built in Wi-fi is perfect
Quiter
Looks sexy
Plus my Argos card just got approved :v:
I don't have an Xbox, but I'll get this probably.
Nah I already have one and it works fine
I have an Elite with a 250GB HD. Buying the new model would be redundant.
My 360 RRoD for the first time yesterday, I got it working for a small amount of time and sold it to gamestop and bought the new one with trade in credit I had saved up
It's insanely silent and awesome
Edit: Controller feels smaller and more responsive somehow as well
Definitely if I didn't already have one since it has built-in wi-fi ($100 to add to the old one) and a 250GB HDD. Great value.
And while technically I didn't have one until a few days ago since my old one died, I already had the wi-fi adapter and a 120GB HDD off my old one. The price-dropped Arcade package was just fine for me. The new Jasper chipsets have proven reliable anyway.
But to anyone thinking about upgrading, it's actually not a bad idea to trade your old 360 and its accessories into GameStop (for once). At the moment, at least according to Kotaku, you can get $100 for the console, $50 for the wi-fi adapter, and $30/$35/$40/$50 for your HDD depending on its size. That's potentially $200 for a full wi-fi-enabled 250GB 360, which means upgrading to the new one would only cost $100 total. You can also get $25 for each wireless controller ($20 if it's wired).
All amounts are in USD, by the way.
Still best to just sell it straight up on eBay or Craigslist, but if you have $100 lying around and are looking for a quick and dirty deal, there you go. My bets are that the trade-in value of the original hardware is going to start falling after a little while, so you better get in on that while you can.
Yeah, since I don't have one. Looking to trade in my dusty PS3 for it. Should still be worth something, since it's backwards compatible.
It will look sexy next to my 1st Gen PS3.
When mine breaks.
The new model is great for people without xboxes, if you have one it is redundant.

Don't trade a backwards compatible PS3 in. That can net you a pretty penny if you sell it online at somewhere like eBay.
Yeah. If I get a girlfriend by the time I get a 360 Slim, I'd give her my old Xbox 360 if she doesn't have one already.
Nope.
I want to, for interior design sake, since I'm such a metrosexual. :v:
I bought my current one at Costco.
So when the new ones come in I'll just return my current one and then get the newest one.
My biggest gripe about the Xbox is how you have to pay for online. Sure it's a great service and all, but if a competitor can offer something similar and certainly better than the Wii's online/friendcode system, it's a deal. I'd rather get a PS3 since I don't really care for Xbox exclusives. PC is superior over both however.
If I had some discs to dispose of, sure.
I would, but I already have one. Coincidentally, I got my Elite for $400 a few weeks before it dropped in price. I wish they'd announce those price drops a lot earlier :saddowns:
If I wanted to get rid of my money I would just shred it.
I bought one.
My old xbox was totally out of warranty and constantly overheated, and I had about 500 bucks and nothing I had my eyes set on to buy, so I decided to get it today.
It's really good, actually.
When they say it's quiet, they fucking mean it. You can't hear a god damn thing, legitimately.
A lot of buttons are now touch sensitive, and make this weird ding sound when you touch it, and it's pretty cool. I'm tempted to make a full on review of it tomorrow.
I'm glad that I bought it instead of a new Elite, but to those who are using a good and bug free xbox right now, don't bother buying it if you don't feel the need.
I'd rather get a PS3.
But I don't really want either
Transfering the memory from my old one to the new one, then selling my old one on Ebay. It's just TOO good to pass up!
It can't RROD, because there's no rings.
It can still get the same hardware faults.
:keke:
