I have an extra key for a copy of the orange box, and i have it on steam already. I was wondering if i added it to my steam account, would that go under gifts and guest passes as an extra copy I can send to people?
Why don't you just give the key to whoever you want to gift it to?

because i dont have anyone to give it to. i want to keep it as a backup, except in my account. all im wondering if what i proposed would work.
It wouldn't work, it would say you already have the product associated with the key.
And if I have a chance at getting the key, my friend has always wanted OB on steam, feel like helping me turn him away from being the console fag he is? :v:
No, it wont work. If you use the key, the game is bound to your Steam account forever.

Just gift the key to someone else (with e-mail or something, since you can't gift keys).
