Me and a couple of friends are organising a small LAN this weekend, but we're short on games to play. Which games do you think are nice for a small LAN? We're about seven people. Shooters are popular, but we're up for anything, really. (User was banned for this post ("Post your/recommend for me" - Orkel))
Borderlands Terraria Serious Sam Titan Quest + expansion Diablo 2 Torchlight 2
Gmod of course
7 people is perfect for killing floor. [editline]29th January 2013[/editline] or l4d versus.
Some of my LAN favourites. Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield Far Cry 2 (CTF, Hardcore on) Unreal Tournament (99/04) Rise Of Nations Trackmania Killing Floor Left 4 Dead Hidden:Source
SWAT 4 would be a good choice.
Halo PC.
Quake 3 Arena
SWAT 4 would be a good choice.
Yeah, Swat 4 is amazing at LANs. Glorious Police brutality.
We tend to play; Supreme Commander Company of Heroes Quake Counterstrike CoD 4 Gmod and most recently, Planetside 2
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with the Multi-Theft Auto Mod, Grand Theft Auto IV hosting a private lobby are great choices. Also, Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto II are great fun, if you can get them to work.
CoD 4 Halo 1 So much fucking fun in a LAN
There is but one choice.
Age of Empires 2?
I always preferred Rise of Nations over Age of Empires 2.
It's been over 10 posts and nobody has mentioned Warcraft? The mods man, the mods....
who calls a custom made map for warcraft a god damned mod?
Arma 2 OA
arma 2
Minecraft is fun with alotta mods, or Terrafirmacraft on Hard. Magicka HL2:DM Synergy Planetside 2
Quake 3, Doom 1 or 2, Half-Life 1 DM, UT99, UT2k4, Halo PC
Killing Floor - Great coop shooter with tons of gore and awesome weapons. Left 4 Dead - It's one of the best coop games that heavily relies on teamwork Company of Heroes - It's an intense and great RTS Minecraft - if you are a creative type of person, building stuff together can be loads of fun Red Orchestra 2 - very immersive shooter that offers great gameplay Defcon - insanely fun in multiplayer if you play the diplomacy mode, lots of intrigues and backstabbing Terraria - a neat little game where you have to gather ressources and fight bosses Torchlight 2 - a great rpg that feels like Diablo Borderlands 2 - great rpg shooter with tons of loot and cool weapons
who calls a custom made map for warcraft a god damned mod?
I have always called them such, and will keep doing it as long as people know wtf I am talking about.
Saints Row 3 if 2 players GTA IV if multiple
Urban Terror - nice shooter that combines realism elements with fast paced quake movement. It's also free.
Not played it, but you could try Warsow: http://www.warsow.net/ which is free, so no worries getting a copy to everyone. Apart from that all I can solidly suggest is stuff that's been put forward already. Generally arena shooters and ARPGs (Diablo clones) are a safe choice.
