Title really says it all. I used to have a nice tank that was almost (I cannot stress this enough; I was like 3 points from being defense capped and I was told that I had gear that was above people who did Naxx10) good enough to be in a raid, but I never got the opportunity to do so. But, it seems a lot has changed in the 2-3 months I've been gone.
So, I ask you:
Is it still worth rejoining?
Shortly put, yes.

Main your tank, do random HCs for emblems and do the weekly raid quest each week.
Join a raiding guild when sufficiently geared, and go and raid ICC.
you can get 33-40k health unbuffed health as a tank and ques are instant for the new LFG system. do what thorny said, though if youre on a good server you dont necessarily need to be in a raiding guild

IMO yes, easier to get gear than in BC and therefore more fun.
It's good for people who lag behind or come late, don't have a lot of time to play or are casual.
Not great for people who prefer challenge coupled with new experiences. (Heroic mode disregarded)

I currently am not playing WoW because it doesn't seem worth setting aside fixed times in my evenings for content that can also be pugged on 10 man except it's just harder.
with the latest patch its actually quite easy for someone to start playing late, considering you can get fully epic'd out in full 232/245 gear in less than a week.

my first 80 took 6/7 days and my dk took 5 (pissed about alot on him)
and after that each character becomes 80 faster

Yes although your gear will be outdated you'll be able to get nice upgrades from the new heroics or their normal versions that'll put you up to where you need to be

before burning crusade when it was actually hard to level it was considered an achievement to get to 30 without quitting and calling it shit, but you wouldnt know
WoW is the best game ever in it's sector. You don't even need to be hardcore to enjoy it anymore (especially 3.3)
So in short, yes its worth rejoining even as a casual player.

Yep.
Funny how all these other MMORPG's are trying to compete with WoW, but only for nothing.
If you ever want to reach as high as 12million subscribers, you've gotta make a totally NEW MMORPG, a new UI, new theme, new what-not, because WoW is definitely best at what it does.
I'm kind of bored with it now. I'm kind of chilling until cataclysm or a big content patch.
Im chilling on different private servers for now. But, listen to me. Official WoW is funner and more bug free than any private server out there.
Personally, I'm going to rejoin about a month before Cata comes out, so I can get geared back up for the uber shitty grind to 85.
