American actor and comedian Gilbert Gottfried may have accidentally announced Grand Theft Auto 5. Gottfried posted on twitter about his involvement in the project:
“Just found out I’m voicing the lead in Grand Theft Auto 5!”
The tweet was quickly taken down, but luckily website The Noble Eskimo managed to catch the tweet! Gottfried has recently been in the news regarding some of his lighthearted tweets towards the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster that happened recently.
If like me you cant picture the voice to the name… He voice Iago in Disney’s Aladdin!
We already know that GTA5 is being developed as we speak. We already have a damn character list.

or a speculated character list at the most.
Not like it wasn't obvious or anything.
“Just found out I’m voicing the lead in Grand Theft Auto 5!”
Seems unlikely that he would be stupid enough to post that to his twitter if it's supposed to be a secret.
Hmm, if it hadn't immediately been taken down I'd say it was just him joking.
Man, seeing him as the lead in Grand Theft Auto 5 would be awesome :v:
Still, it must have been a joke.
I'm having a really hard time imagining him having a serious role.
He should just voice the entire cast of the game
I would love that so much
lead character is confirmed as a duck
A renegade insurance duck.

Maybe that means they're not going to over-serious the crap out of GTA5 like they did with IV and bring the silliness and sandbox style back to the game.
We need a GTA with skate 3 physics.
That would be so fun.
So is this actually GTA 5 or is it like GTA: IV San Andreas, I'm really hoping for the later, I liked how they did it for GTA 3's game engine.. two spinoff titles in different locales.
Gottfried voicing the lead for GTA V?
ALL
OF
MY
MONEY
Idk why but Gottfried as the lead character sounds like an absolute shithole to me. His voice is kind of annoying when you hear him a lot, and imagining him as any lead character in GTA sounds like a train wreck to my ears.
Yeah fucking right, this is bullshit.
I have a hard time believing he would be voicing the main character.
Whenever I hear him, I can't help but think of Iago.
He's NOT voicing the lead character.
I can see it now, Gottfried storming the AFLAC building on a vendetta.
I really kind of hope it's a joke, or that GTA:V will go back to the fun of San Andreas, with all the silliness. GTA IV was far too serious for me to have fun.

TBoGT was fun though, and it was on the GTA IV engine.
INCONCIEVABLE!
I dont think this sounds good, let alone for serious
He'll voice your annoying sidekick.
A parrot
In Arabia
GTA V Disney Edition

uhm it's obviously a joke, have you heard gilbert gottfried's voice
[editline]21st March 2011[/editline]
maybe he could voice the lead in SR3 though

So long as he is included at least somewhere in the game with this track:

...appearing on the radio, I'm sold.
Gilbert Gottfried is my absolute hero, his voice makes me laugh like hell. Although GTA is way too serious for him, it's kind of weird he'd mention it. Doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would keep in touch with gaming.
I hope they release it at the same time for PC this time and better optimize it

keep dreaming
Here comes the Saints Row vs GTA stuff again.
Gilbert leading the role in Grand Theft Auto V?
I'd rather shove forks in my ears.
Honestly they can fill two niches in the same genre. Although GTA has deviated from the less-serious plots its still fun. And Saint's Row can take the place of the wacky gameplay of the old GTA's.
