• Borderlands - is it abandoned?

Recently I found Borderlands installed on my computer still, and decided to give it a shot again. And I realized how mildly fun it can be, and that was only Single Player. But the sad part is, it seems like no one else plays it, as if I'm in my own world. I never see any games open anymore, and all the friends I met on it are offline. It's sad. And to make it worse I have the non-Steam version (my dad gifted it to me on direct2drive) so I'm not sure if I can play with people who have Steam. I think it'd be fun to play a game with other people, as games are always more exciting with multiplayer capabilities. And hopefully I can bring Borderlands back up on Facepunch (I miss the sub-forum :saddowns:) because this game isn't a bad game really. So really what I'm asking if people would like to bring up good memories and play this game again :v:
Its not fun
I like it, but I have no one to play it with, so recently uninstalled it.
Pub borderlands wasn't ever good It's awesome with friends though
I like it, but I have no one to play it with, so recently uninstalled it.
I would've played with you :3:
Pub borderlands wasn't ever good It's awesome with friends though
And most of my friends didn't have it/have the Steam version so it was a bit hard to play. I met quite a good friends in pubs though. You gotta start somewhere.
still have it we could play [editline]04:34PM[/editline] dont know if its the latest patch though
Its not fun
Sadly, I agree. I couldn't even bring myself to finish the game. I hear the ending sucked anyways.
It's only fun to play with friends if you're the same level, I didn't play as much as they did so when we finally got around to playing it was no fun because they would run ahead and rape all the enemies while I'd get smushed.
still have it we could play [editline]04:34PM[/editline] dont know if its the latest patch though
Haven't updated mine in forever. Infact, I don't think I ever did before. And the ending didn't entirely suck, but it was a nice little treat.
inzuki go to teamspeak we will play
looked fun until they decided to make the "artistic change"
looked fun until they decided to make the "artistic change"
Looked fun untill they ripped out procedural generation of landscape, car mods, finding random grenades etc.
looked fun until they decided to make the "artistic change"
Yeah bro, I wanted so much to have fun, but art style totally ruined it. :downs:
Yeah bro, I wanted so much to have fun, but art style totally ruined it. :downs:
with the artistic change came a whole bunch of other shit why don't you use your brain :downs:
with the artistic change came a whole bunch of other shit why don't you use your brain :downs:
Just like Spore, and both failed.
with the artistic change came a whole bunch of other shit why don't you use your brain :downs:
Yeah, they were all like, "well now that this game looks different, we can't possibly add these other features." :downs:
looked fun until they decided to make the "artistic change"
I like the cel-shaded black border style, it differentiated itself from the sea of gritty brownism at the time.
Love it, but after 6 months it got a bit boring. Yes, I managed to completely play it, all side quests, plus the General Knoxx DLC. 2 accounts with playthrough 1 completed, one of them also has 2 completed, but not all sidequests. Also, DLC still not finished...
did they ever fix the fov being set at like 20
did they ever fix the fov being set at like 20
They made the FOV 1 and turned it into a first-person side scroller
"THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER SERIOUSLY IT JUST OOZES STYLE, WOAH THAT CUT AWAY WITH ZED WAS AWESOME THIS DESERT IS SO COOL" -hours later- "Hell yeah! I can finally leave firestone, can't wait to see what they do with the artstyle, hope there's more of a plot coming up." -upon entering new area- "Hey... great more desert, ah well I'm driving around so it's fun I guess." -hours later- "Done with that quest. Sounds like I got a new area to explore claptrap show me the way!" -entry- "Wow. -MORE- fucking desert. Glad to see they used this colorful artstyle for all this brown. God dammit I keep finding the exact same gun to, where are all the different variations?!" -Final stretch- "Great snow. I don't even care anymore, game hurry up and be over please" Pretty much sums up my playthrough with a friend
-Started up singleplayer. "Wow this game is kind of boring by myself, why can't we get multiplayer to work?" -After ganging up with friends instead of playing shit singleplayer "Wow this game is awesome, we are having so much fun" *proceeds to have kickass adventures* -After ending "Meh" Overall this game was pretty great for the first playthrough, though it rapidly got boring afterwards. This game would have gotten boring much faster if not for dicking around with my friend, having instakill bird battles and being pushed around with a car to become a mobile turret.
I borrowed it from a friend a few months ago, and played for less than a week. The enemies were repetitive and every time I played online I got paired with douche bags. :saddowns:
Borderlands is one of the games I regret buying. Played through once, and it hasn't been touched since.
It was a cool idea but not that great.
I got hella bored quick.
Nah. I had fun the entire time. If I didn't have other stuff to do, I might finish off Brick. I have 2 characters through the whole thing (DLCs included). The Armory DLC really livened it up for me. I just have to be in the mood to play it.
I thought the game would be a little like monster hunter, as in you get missions from a board and go hunt gigantic monsters. I thought that the Rakk Hive type monsters would be commonplace and you would make your own vehicles have fun with tons of friends. I was sadly mistaken.
It's basically a one-hit wonder in terms of replay. It could be really good on the first go-through, but then after that, there's no reason to go back.
Well I haven't played in about 7 months so it might have a little bit of re-playability.
