As I was playing counter-strike Source I bought and awp and a deagle... Felt like nothing special, but little did I know I wanted to play an RPG game I've last played when I was about four or five years old... I'm 18 now so you can understand that it is older than 1991 Onto the game then. The title is a picture of a shore and a big boat or something (shore to the right side, boat to left) It's a sandbox RPG where you start with picking about four or five characters (Can't really remember) and naming them, customizing them and stuff. Now It's 2D and top to bottom. I think you start of at a graveyard or something like that And one thing that I remember is that when you fight you enter a final fantasy stylish random battle but the graphic and the whole movement system remain, the only thing that differs is that the random battle is a monster and when you move onto it you enter a bigger map with more enemies One thing that I remember from it is that if you pick New game and walk all the way to the bottom, you will come to a cave. In this cave there could SOMETIMES be a Icy dagger or something like that. Sorry for my bad spelling and if anyone of you can identify this game... Well... I can't tell how much I would owe you! Also! I don't remember if this game was on a PC or a Mac
Hmm sounds like a mix of Myst, Zoombinis, King's Quest and Jade Cacoon.
None of those :<
Ultima Online?
Ultima Online?
That's a MMOrpg
Ultima Online?
Maybe I wasn't too clear. It's an OLD RPG game.. Not online either
Sounds a vague bit like Heroes of Might and Magic. Except there was only one character there. What do you mean by '2-D and top-to-bottom'?
Maybe I wasn't too clear. It's an OLD RPG game.. Not online either
Ultima is old. But do you remember anything else about it? [editline]08:05PM[/editline] Graveyard starting area kinda reminds me of Planescape: Torment, but that's more isometric view than top-down.
i had a demo of a game like this on my old comp... legendary lair?

Any of these ring any bells? http://www.dosgames.com/g_rpg.php
Could it be Icewind Dale? I'm not sure how it started though.
It sounds sorta like one of the Might And Magic games to me, but those aren't top-down and don't move to a larger map when you fight enemies. Oh, and the Might And Magic games are roleplaying games, not roleplaying game games, so maybe not.
