• BunnyHopping (Bhopping) In HL1

Hey guys, I recently got New Gauge Half Life, a stand alone client that removes valve's updates and reverts HL1 back to it's original retail state, so you don't HAVE to deal with the broken HD models that valve's forcing on us. Plus, the speed cap is removed, so you can Bhop, which is the main reason I got the client. So, my question is, how do you successfully Bhop? It's not the ability to Bhop I'm asking about, It's HOW to Bhop. So, can someone explain to me step by step how to Bunnyhop, because all of the guides I've read online seem a bit too complicated. So can someone break it down into simple steps, or post a video or something? Thanks.
I think it's pretty simple. Just go forward, then start jumping (though i used a script for doing this, that only holding space would make you jump multiple times.) doing A-D and looking (By this i mean, if you hold A look to the left, and D right.) At least that's how i did a few years ago. Edited: Also, you get VAC banned or something using that NGHL thing on steam?

Something to note. Do not hold forward, or it won't work. Also the max 'uncapped' speed is 2000 units per second, or 6.25x your normal speed
Oh. Okay. That's what I've been doing wrong. I've been doing the mouse+strafe thing but I've also been holding down forward. Thanks for the tips.
isn't what you downloaded pretty much warez?
isn't what you downloaded pretty much warez?
I don't think so. SpiderWafflle, (The guy who holds the record for the fastest Hl1 speedrun) uses it for speedruns, so I figured with the attention he gets, he would have been banned by now if valve REALLY considered it warez. I hope to god it's not though. If it is, I'm un-installing it immediately. Sure, NGHL is fun, but it's not worth losing my steam account over. Can someone verify the legal status of that client for me?
There is a mod called the HLSP Bunny Mod that removes the speed cap (as used by Spider Waffle and Quadrazid). I could give you a link if you want
note that turning and strafing isn't technically Bhopping, it's called boosting. at least in the Specialists circles. [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] TS is probably the only game where boosting is a necessity. if you can't boost in TS, you will lose every battle.
