I have wanted to try out the Half-life 2 Beta for a long time but I cant find it anywhere, and before anybody says this, yes I did :google: it.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to have Half-Life 2 Beta as an actual Valve game. I know today HL2 is amazing and all, but I love Half-Life 2 Beta.

Yes, that site is the best one to go to IMHO if you want the real leak.
If you want a already fixed up one, get Missing Information.
You'll need to register on spb.ru, but it's worth it.
It's only good because of the models, NPCs and weapons. It has lack of maps and doesn't make it fun.

Sir, you're wrong.
The HL2 beta had the same plot as HL2 retail. It just that the weapons, materials, NPCs and stuff weren't scrapped. And it just has small part of maps on it. At least the retail is completed and it's awesome. If Valve cut things on it, it's because for a reason.
I meant in terms of content and more stuff. I can't compare the two game-wise because HL2 Beta wasn't a complete game. :v:

Half-Life 2 Beta would have been more fun if it hadn't been leaked.
From what I can see via videos and pictures, I would personally say that the old Half-Life 2 would have been way, way, more fun, possibly longer too.
I mean just look at the fucking Concept art for the Beta, that shit was going to be in there? God damn, even that desert depot video I saw a while back was pretty cool.
The current Half-Life 2 was majorly rushed to get it out in like, over a year? It sucked ass compared to the Beta :frown:

We wouldn't have episodes if it weren't for the leak. But still, think about it. The episodes gave Valve time to expand on the story. :D

There was even a part that was going to be included in the game where you went to the main antlion nest and killed a huge ass queen.
The original storyline was fucking awesome, I just hope that they include some of that stuff in later games/episodes.

Valve said that the leak wasn't the reason they cut things.

I still blame the Leak being the most valued reason for stuff being Cut.
If there's one prop in that game that's [b]huge[/b] from the Beta and is still available, it'll be the depot. You can find it in the Prison props in GMod I think. It's some huge background combine-looking thing.
