Playstation Battle Royale - Did Parappa just kill Kratos?

Kind of. On the surface it looks like nothing other then a glorified ripoff but mechanics wise it's a different beast of it's own. It's really hard to explain but once you get your hands on it it's pretty easy to understand.
[b]Well what makes it different?[/b]
The game is a lot more combo oriented, where as smash bros you'd put combos together in a system that didn't really support it, this one has strings of attacks put together in order to build your meter so you can preform ultras that will score you kills. Think about the enemy's ultra meter as reverse life bar as sorts, the more full/higher it is the closer you are to dying.

[b]Fair enough. What game modes are there?[/b]
There's a fair number of modes actually,
[i]K.O.[/i]: The only mode in the Beta and the only mode they show off in the media for the most part. This mode puts you and 3 other players either on a team or in a free for all in a arena, where you try to build meter as fast as possible with combos and try to get as many kills as possible. Kills are 2 points, where as if you die you lose 1. Supers range from effectiveness so it's all about planning out your strikes.
[i]Stock[/i]: You have a set amount of lives and when you run out you're out of the game. It's like Smash's stock really.
[i]Ring out[/i]: If you want to turn it into smash bros well there's a option for that, knock your enemies off the map to score kills or use the usual supers. (Unconfirmed, though a lot of inside sources are saying it's in)
[i]Campaign[/i]: There's actually a full story mode to this game with cutscenes and rival fights. There's supposed to be a "playstation final boss" as well that's kept secret for the most part. [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY2XsFAq2KQ]It also features Heihachi getting mad at some cats.[/url]

Surprisingly, I can't find a trailer for Nathan Drake but, he's totally there, and obviously from the Uncharted series.

Well the characters for the most part are done, but there's rumors floating around that there's four more unannounced cast members and it's supported by various accidental leaks and the like as well. Such as Kat (Gravity Rush) Crash Bandicoot (Title of the series) Old Snake (Metal Gear Solid) and ????. Time will tell though.

This is the cool part, the stages are actively under attack from other Sony universes so there's some great background cameos that go on. For example in the Hades level, the big man himself will be constantly trying to hit you and the other fighters, but about halfway in the cave falls apart and a roving band of Patapons will march in and get caught up in a fight vs Hades (and will hit the fighters as well) adding a constant change up (the music will even turn to a patapon like theme)

Alden's tower from inFamous, the first part of the stage involves you and your enemies scaling it while beating on each other, but when you reach the top a bunch of clouds will fall from the sky as well as a moon, and it'll suddenly look like a sly cooper styled roof, Carmelita will then fly in and try to shoot and take out fighters.
There's a lot to the cameos in each mashup stage and the levels are always changing due to it, so it's interesting to see what will happen on each one.
[b]Neat, so when does it come out?[/b]
November 20th on both PS3 and Vita. If you shell out for the PS3 version you'll also get the Vita version totally free via a download code to support the "cross buy" system that Sony's trying out. Free deal there really :v:

I loved the Sly Cooper series, I'm so glad they decided to include him.
i think it looks like a awesome game to play plus does anyone wanna speculate the final boss for this game ? my bet is on this guy

I watched the repeat of this on GTTV.
One of the developers mentioned 3rd party characters from 20 years of PlayStation are a big part of the game.
Hopefully Crash Bandicoot shows up
Also, Nariko vs Kratos would be awesome

That's beautiful.
I have to say, when they started showing off the stages and how the gameplay flows, the aesthetics are really ripped right out of Super Smash Bros. I'm sure that the gameplay could be completely different, but the way the game looks, all the hud elements, how the camera follows the different players on the screen is just identical.

Oh god, I remember seeing that on TV.
I don't have a PS3 but as a SSB fan I can say I'm kind of happy with this, especially since I have a soft spot for Sweet Tooth.
I just hope if they get Snake in PBR it won't stop him from being in SSB4
