Mass Effect 2 or Left 4 Dead 2?

OK guys, my birthday was about a month ago, but were waiting to have enough money to throw a tiny party, but, I have a problem, which one of these 2 games do i get?!?

Mass Effect 2: I know it's a heavily story based game, but I can wiki that stuff If I have questions. but i know it has AN UPGRADEABLE SPACESHIP, Now, I tend to explode in orgasm when I can upgrade stuff, but [b]upgrading spaceships?[/b] That's just :byodood:

and L4D2 I know is fun, hopping around spamming "WUBUBUBUBUBU" or deathscreams(my friend does that) , killing zombies and generally having a blast, not to mention the music, but I'm still not sure, which do i get?

This isn't really comparable. If you like a deep RPG with a great narrative then get Mass Effect 2, if you want a multiplayer game that's great with friends get L4D2.

I can't really describe it... but the combat + rest of the engine in Mass effect 2 was... awkward... I couldn't really get into the story because it's entirely conversation based, while a first person shooter explains the story real-time.

WTF are you talking about. The conversation driven story allows you to make it pan out the way that you want it to. You aren't just thrown into a corridor story that plays out the same way each time. The combat is a different style to most thirdperson shooters but once you get the hang of the pausing system it becomes quite seamless. As long as you want an interesting experience that isn't mindless like MW2 you should pick it up.

I mainly play FPS', I'd never really played any RPG games before Mass Effect, but the Mass Effect series is by far one of my most (if not my most) favourite series out there. I fucking love it. It's an amazingly detailed, fleshed out universe. It's utterly astonishing how much they've thought it through. Both games are absolutely beautiful, the story line is engrossing, the gameplay incredibly fun, the choice and morality system is amazing. All over a great game, and I'd probably recommend it over any FPS (even though I'm a huge FPS fan).

I'd go with l4d2 mainly because l4d2 has upcoming DLC an great when playing friends ,but as most have said two different genres so pick your choice. Also does Mass effect have any dlc coming? Im just curios.

I've clocked about 13 hours into Left 4 Dead 2 since it came out about 3 months ago.

Mass Effect 2 is somewhere around 35 right now.

Left 4 Dead is fun, but Mass Effect 2 is amazing.

Agreed completely. There's no point in play ME2 if you have not completed the main quest of ME1.
