• Steam downloads same updates everytime

For around 8 months I'm trying to deal with this annoying problem: everytime I start Steam, it downloads the same updates for some games. It's annoying, even if the updates are relatively small most of the time (~700MB was the biggest one). All I can do is uninstall and reinstall the affected games. But then Steam picks other games and tools. Deleting AppUpdateStats.blob and ClientRegistry.blob does nothing. I tried to reinstall Steam but that didn't do shit. Does anyone suffer from the same problem and knows a solution? I got no answer in my SPUF thread months ago. Maybe the problem has spread since then. Thanks in advance!
DasMatze i am affraid to say that, but you need to re-install your OS its like hidden cache files. It did the same thing to me, i re-installed it it was gone.
Isn't that a bit drastic? Have you tried veryfying the game's files apart from deleting the blob files?

The entry said: "HasAllLocalContent" "0" "UpdateKBtoDL" "10895014". I changed it for this: "HasAllLocalContent" "1" "UpdateKBtoDL" "0". Then saved the file, made it read-only and launched Steam.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=26151354&postcount=7
Wouldn't that mess up steam a lot, even if it does fix it?
I'm not sure, but you should always be careful when you edit/modify/delete any of Steam's files. Know what your doing and what's going to happen before doing this.
Indeed, it could mess it up. It didn't work anyway. But thanks for the help.
I sent this to DasMatze, posting it here just in case. EDIT: Actualy nevermind, it's something completly different.
I sent this to DasMatze, posting it here just in case.
So what should I do? Delete the files? I never moved my Steam install path.
