The game is based around the role of the military sniper, which the developer has noted that the public interest of which has increased thanks in large parts to shows on channels like the History Channel or the Military Channel. The game's objective is to insert players into the role of an elite sniper team set into a hostile area in an attempt to help the rebels of a Latin American country fight against the force who has toppled their government in a coup d'état.

Story
In the game players will take the role of two characters for different missions, using the sniper character for long range missions and stealth assignments and a Delta Force operator for missions involving direct firefights. The main plot centers around a highly trained special ops unit that is sent into the fictional country of Isla Trueno, whose democratic government is overthrown by a hostile force. It is the team's task to train and help the rebels in the region fight back by attacking the enemy forces in various sniping and close assault missions.
Weapons
While not much is known about the weaponry available to players, the game is confirmed to have four usable sniper rifles:
Stoner SR-25 (not to be confused with the very similar looking M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System)
Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova (SVD)
Heckler & Koch MSG-90
Accuracy International AS50
In addition to the aforementioned sniper rifles, it has been confirmed that players will also have access to M18 Claymore anti-personnel mines, C-4 plastic explosives, and Throwing Knives(which can be picked up and reused). Sidearms have also been mentioned and a Heckler & Koch USP with a Suppressor has been seen in one of the Screenshots, although it is unclear on what other Sidearms will be available for use.
In the art work for the game, a spotter is depicted holding an M4 Carbine equipped with an AN/PEQ-2, M203 grenade launcher, and an Aimpoint CompM2 Optical Sight with what appears to be an EOTech G23 FTS
It has also been said that in the main campaign of the game, players will be able to use more traditional weapons to engage enemies in a typical of most first person shooters, rather than taking down enemies using sniper rifles. This may refer to the weapons used by the other playable character in the game, an SFOD-Delta Operator.

The demo was a piece of shit.
I played the demo and it was horrible. You can pick up any old gun and run around shooting everyone and easily beat it. The worst part of the demo was it forced you to play with a little red dot that told you where to shoot, which defeats the point. Maybe the full game is better since you can play hard mode but the demo doesn't make me want to play it.
I only got 1 question, is it worth buying?
I like sniping, precision and realism, but if the above user tells the truth, than mehhh

I could play hard mode in the demo...

You can select hard mode but true hard mode isn't supposed to give you a red dot.
Sniping in other games like BF2BC is great as it is so I wouldn't really consider buying a sniping orientated game.

Try the demo and see for yourself
Sniper Ghost Warrior
Really, that's the best name they could come up with?
This game is going to be awful
Just stick with Sniper Elite
I wish they made a real sniping assassin game which had wind, bullet drop, and distance all play a factor in your shot.
But that would get kind of repetitive.
Sniper Elite > This
have you guys tried the full game yet? yea, thought so, so shut up and stop judging things just by the demo.

The whole point of a demo is demonstrate the gameplay so you can make the judgement of whether to buy it or not.

yea but it's also not the full game
Demos are usually an accurate representation of the game.
yea but it's also not the full game
Name the last game which was a significant improvement over the demo. Or even changed anything for that matter.

Timeshift. It got a complete overhaul after the demo was released. The final game was released ~1½ year afterwards.
*The most realistic sniping experience in a video game ever, right down to managing your breathing for increased accuracy of sniper shots
I lol'd.

Timeshift also had an up to date demo. And I doubt this game will change anything from the demo.

I played the demo with hard mode and had no assists whatsoever.
I'll be waiting for this game to come out of the cheap. The plot is kinda thin, the animations aren't that great. The ladder mechanics is just lame lol and maybe or maybe it won't be patched but AI can sometimes see you through cover.
Game is alrite...sniping is nice but might aswell just play sniper Elite. Definatly not something I'd pay full price for.
I'll try demo, or whatever I'll download, and then i'll decide to buy or not to buy.
game is kinda weak, sniping in arma 2 with ace is more accurate and sniper elite is more fun as you can wound and shoot grenades and other cool stuff. looks ok though and maybe people can make a decent mod for it.
also on triplehead a leaf texture gets stuck half way across the right monitor for no reason
If a video game's name includes "sniper","warrior","hero","soldier" or some other "hero shit", don't buy it.
I'll be checking this out, the demo was...interesting.
This thing is nowhere near "realistic". I'm still waiting for a sniper game where all kills are made from longer than 300 meters and where you avoid enemies by keeping a distance to them, not this stealth bullshit where you move a few meters away from em and blast all your enemies with melee and SD pistols.
This thing feels more like a movie styled game where the sniper moves a few meters away from enemies and kills em all with silenced weapons.
I'll keep playing ArmA II + ACE and Sniper Elite...
How long would you say the demo takes to beat?
The game looks unusually easy. Throwing knife's adjust their own arc to the crosshair, even when shooting an enemy in the chest they do not seem to cry out in pain when shot in the chest, silence should only occur when shot in the head. The stealth system seems to be laughably poor, in the gameplay the protagonist would jog behing his intended victim only a few meters away and for a game where stealth is a key element this could be problematic.
Enemies also do not seem to register the sound of falling bodies. Also crawling threw water would in real life produce a large sloshing sound however near the end of the gameplay the protagonist crawls right through the water without him producing any sound.
Yes I am aware that this a game but for a game that prides itself on having "The most realistic sniping experience in a video game ever, right down to managing your breathing for increased accuracy of sniper shots" it certainly does not live up to par.
TLDR: Its not a realistic sniping game. If you want hardcore realism in gaming play ARMA 2 and snipe.

Also sniper elite as another poster said.
Hopefully this game is good enough to take all the sniper players out of other games.
In Youtube people have videos where they have beaten it in 5 minutes. (the demo)
