EA's Chief Creative Officer, Richard Hilleman, said that defense would receive various changes in mechanics and controls, one of the first known changes in the game. Part of the Madden NFL series, the game was released on August 28, 2012. For the first time in the series, the game will be officially released in Brazil, due to the explosive growth of the sport in the country. It is the successor to NCAA Football 12 in the NCAA Football series. It is a part of the NFL 2K series. The game was originally released on July 20, 2004, for both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox video game consoles. It was the last NFL 2K game to be released before Electronic Arts signed an exclusivity deal with the NFL to make 2K's rival Madden NFL series the only officially licensed NFL game. The game features a franchise mode with a SportsCenter feature hosted by Chris Berman. He outlines the games of the current week with his co-host Trey Wingo who talks about the latest injuries and free agent deals and trades during the season. Mel Kiper hosts the draft portion of the segment while Suzy Kolber reports from the sidelines There is also weekly preparation for the coming week which allows the player to make decisions on training and preparation. The player can also create his or her own team deciding the team logos (over 10 are available), team name, the teams city, the teams stadium look and build, jersey's and how good the team is. It also has a feature called first-person football, which gives the player the experience on the field looking from the eyes of the players. There is also the traditional create-a-player mode. One of its highlights is the use of Euphoria, a game animation engine that determines animations dynamically rather than depending on canned animations. Backbreaker does not use teams from the National Football League (NFL) because Electronic Arts has an exclusive license to produce NFL games in its Madden series. The game relies on an extensive logo editor and team builder that was called "one of its silver linings". NaturalMotion announced Backbreaker in August 2007, with a targeted release date of late 2008. The game ended up being delayed until mid-2010. Backbreaker received mixed reviews. While it was praised for the Euphoria animation system, realistic physical gameplay, and the logo editor, it was also criticized for its weak online play, poor passing game, and lack of depth in single-player modes. After the reviews, the passing game was adjusted by the greathouse patch. The Xbox 360 version of the game received an overall rating of 54% from review aggregator Metacritic, while the PlayStation 3 version received a 58%. The iOS and Android version was given a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars by Touch Arcade. A patch released on August 6, 2010, alleviated many of the issues critics had with the game upon release and included upgrades such as: improved AI, new play books and an enhanced replay feature. Post your Franchise/Dynasty progress, your sliders, your MyPlayer, or anything else pertaining to video game football. I'll update the OP based on your suggestions. Get posting!
Finally a thread where I can talk about my SPORTS SIMS
I like the new physics engine for madden 13! it's hilarious watching players trip over other players after the play
Fuck the 49ers. Impossible to beat online
The bugs are horrific. DBs keep run committing Robo-QB is still around Run blocking logic is still just not there. Good god.
Never updated my Madden. Besides punters only kicking 8-12yards it's flawless.
Kind of relevant. I'm not much into sports games personally but I picked this up the other day. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22953483/SANY0006.JPG[/t] Two guesses why. I tried playing it but I'm pretty horrible.
In NCAA 12, i love starting up dynasty as the worst team possible ([sp]akron[/sp]), and playing in all-American mode and win the BCS 7 years in a row, then switching to another horrible team and do the same thing over... [sp]I am a god at NCAA football games[/sp]
Going to play a Seahawks franchise. I'm pumped for it. [editline]14th October 2012[/editline] Daily Game of Madden First off, I know you all have questions as to what I am doing. Each day I'm going to play a game of Madden and record the results. Most games are going to be blowouts but sometimes? I get in really tight games against other teams. I'll do random teams for each game and pick the home team or away team on switching days. Today I decided to be the away team as I ended up getting the Colts for a matchup against the Bears. I will not include current NFL injuries however some of the injuries I include are from visuals, not what the game says. You'll enjoy it. I have pictures that I'll add to this in a little bit but for now this will be text based. I should have Hilton's ankle on here soon but if I don't I will try to get you that disgusting sideways fracture as soon as possible. To begin with. Vs. The Bears began receiving the ball. One touchback later? The Bears set up to launch an offensive attack onto an already damaged Colts defense. On the first carry of the game Matt Forte was twisted into an awful position. A leg stretching landing between two Colt defenders that left Forte sprawled out on the field in pain. After being helped off the field it was revealed that Forte pulled a muscle in his leg, and cannot play the rest of the game. Taking his place came the brute Michael Bush. After a quick 3 and out the Colt seized possession of the ball for the first time of the game. Donald Brown achieved 22 yards on his two carries of the drive in back to back rushes. The Bears have no way to counteract the run game off to the side except to hope Tillman or Briggs comes into the pile to take the bounty on Brown's head. The crowd erupts in cheers as a perfectly placed pass leaves Brazill wide open. Playing cover put Tillman in between Wayne and Brazill forcing him to only cover one. He tried to cover both but as he comes up to deflect a ball intended for Brazill, he arrives less than a quarter of a second late. The ball glides off his fingertips, straight past to Brazill who charges up the sideline to the 2 yard line. A dump off pass to Wayne sets the score at 7-0. After a failed Bears drive that resulted in 2 dropped, or better, rejected passes by Marshall, the Colts get possession again. On 2 and 6 Hilton catches a 13 yard pass and rides up the sideline for an extra 9. Another pass to Hilton takes the ball to midfield. On Hilton's 3rd catch of the game, at which point he is looking like a decent receiver, Hilton is held up by Urlacher. As Urlacher latches onto Hilton, keeping his feet planted to the ground, Hilton is absolutely smashed by another Bears defender. Urlachers helmet jams into Hilton's rib cage, easily shattering his ribs and damaging his insides. As Hilton is pushed backwards his ankle is contorted and pushed downward. The bone snaps out the edge of it, clawing at the edge of his sock. Hilton screams in agony as the man who hit him kneels in front of him. Hilton is quickly carted off the field, staring at the broken limb and the jutting bone that's been crunched and forced out of his body. The first half ends with the score 14-0, Colts leading. Brandon Marshall is yet to receive a catch. Starting off the second half Brazill trys to return the kickoff. After breaking off one tackler and dodging another he is pushed into a crowd of players. Being tossed back and forth, the entire Bears team closes in. He escapes the mosh pit and get another 14 yards before being tripped up by Tillman grabbing his ankle. Wayne scores his 3rd touchdown of the game on the halftime opening drive. He is 1 short of tying the record and has a good chance to do so. Cutler tries scrambling during the Bears following drive, coughing up the football as he has his ankles taken out from behind. Zbibowski jumps onto the ball and gets it back for the Colts. Another long drive that includes an amazing Donnie Avery over the top catch on Conte is capped off with a Reggie Wayne touchdown. Wayne is one TD away from a record. The following drive for the Bears is long and time consuming. Devin Hester dislocates his shoulder after a hard hit from Mathis, sending him out of the lineup. Gould gets 42 yarder to score the Bears first points of the game. The Colts march down field to the Bears front door, knocking on it at the 1. A tipped pass is picked and sends Chicago up to their own 20. After an amazingly acrobatic interception the Colts get the ball back, launching it outside to Wayne who leaps over Conte to catch it in the endzone. A record has been broken. Cutler throws his second pick of the game to Vaughn on a deep pass intended for Marshall. Connor, a Colts defender, gets a concussion on the play. Luck throws a pick, which is returned by Cutler, which is then returned again by Luck. Donald Brown is hurt on the final play, being crushed by Urlacher as the whistle blows. He has to be carted off the field. Final Score Colts 35 Bears 3 Stats Andrew Luck 91.2 Passer Rating 21 of 32 260 yards 65% 5 Touchdowns 3 Interceptions Jay Cutler 13.9 Passer Rating 7 of 15 143 Yards 46% No Touchdowns 3 Interceptions Michael Bush 11 Carries 31 Yards Donald Brown 14 Carries 66 Yards Most interesting things in the game: Marshall didn't get a single catch off the 6 passes thrown his way. Freeney sucked ass. Wayne broke that one record nobody has ever heard of. T.Y. Hilton's ankle is piercing through his skin and he is in the hospital. Will upload sexy Madden pics soon. Agree if I should make another one of these, disagree if I should change the format, informative if you hate this. This failed in the American Football thread so I am just curious as to if it will work here.
I was about to assert dominance over Chernobyl in madden today.
My PS3 wanted to keep me from destroying you.
I would never buy one of these games, but renting them/getting them with gamefly is an AWESOME time waster. Specifically franchise mode.
I fucking love Madden, nothing makes me rage quite like it.
Doing an all night Madden competition with friends is so much fucking fun I want Madden 13 like crazy but I have no cash. Madden 11 will have to do.
Doing an all night Madden competition with friends is so much fucking fun I want Madden 13 like crazy but I have no cash. Madden 11 will have to do.
It will not do. Get cash. Get Madden 13. You will not regret it.
never been a fan of football games, really. got madden 13, play it with one of my bros all the time. oh dear god it's so fun.
It will not do. Get cash. Get Madden 13. You will not regret it.
But I want Borderlands 2 like crazy :( Also one of my friends is fucking incredible at Madden and whenever I make a pass its ALWAYS intercepted. I GET SO PISSED
But I want Borderlands 2 like crazy :( Also one of my friends is fucking incredible at Madden and whenever I make a pass its ALWAYS intercepted. I GET SO PISSED
Madden 13 has different passing trajectories and controls so you don't throw a pick everytime. Move the thumbstick high left to place the ball high left. Easier than the old games.
Wow I had no idea, will have to try next time we play.
Updated OP to include Backbreaker and NFL 2k5. Also included screenshots from the games.
I obtained Madden 08 on the PC, and holy fucking shitdicks is it hard
Updated OP to include Backbreaker and NFL 2k5. Also included screenshots from the games.
Backbreaker is the shit. I'll play it tonight and get some pictures and maybe videos for it.
It will not do. Get cash. Get Madden 13. You will not regret it.
I wouldn't recommend it. Especially since they've axed the franchise mode apparently. I'm glad I didn't buy it or it would have been my most regretted Madden purchase to date. The general rule with Madden seems to be that the higher the number, the worse the game.
Especially since they've axed the franchise mode apparently.
Completely wrong. The first thing the game does when you start it is tell you how to get to franchise mode.
Completely wrong. The first thing the game does when you start it is tell you how to get to franchise mode.
I know there's something like it but I thought that there was only like a coach mode or something? Which was missing a lot of the old Franchise features.
I've heard Madden 13 is amazing
I know there's something like it but I thought that there was only like a coach mode or something? Which was missing a lot of the old Franchise features.
Franchise mode becomes part of Connected Careers. You play as a coach and have your career as the coach but it has all the in-game options of Franchise mode. The biggest difference is the many different screens and stuff you have to look through. Scouting is better. Unique players get drafted up. Backstories. Better development that bases off performance over a set timeline for a player. [editline]17th October 2012[/editline]
I've heard Madden 13 is amazing
It is.
Have they fixed the lines on NCAA 2013? I've been playing a lot of 2012 on Heisman recently and I notice for both sides sometimes offensive linemen just ignore who they're supposed to block (I saw it happen at least 3 times with the computers MLB last game). Is the passing game better like I've heard too? I'm really on the edge about getting this. I've been thinking about picking up Madden '13 if you guys think that would be a better buy, as my last one was Madden 2010.
If Madden 10 was the last one that you picked up you would be blown away by Madden 13's gameplay. I cannot speak for NCAA 2013 as I haven't had time to pick it up yet though. You might wanna download Madden 13's demo and then decide. Seahawks are now 0-1 thanks to Wilson and Flynn passing like fucking idiots. Golden Tate dropped the clutch field goal range catch that would've let me win. Lynch kicked ass as usual, getting 120 or so yards on just 7 carries with a 63 yard breakout run. Fuck the Cardinals.
After a 7-9 loss to Arizona, my Hawks are getting it back on track after beating the Cowboys 17-12. I've noticed that the Seahawks constantly get cheated. That loss to Arizona was on a deflected 60 yard bomb that fell into Michael Floyd's hands. Dez Bryant put 6 on the board for Dallas on a 55 yard deep pass into trip coverage that got lucky. 1-1 now and Lynch is a fucking beast. He has only had 25 or so carries yet he has around 250 yards rushing.
