The Dante of DmC is a young man who has no respect for authority or indeed society in general. Dante knows that he is not human, but also that he is not like the demons that have tormented him throughout his life. Caught between worlds, he feels like an outcast. Thanks to his twin brother Vergil, leader of the anti-establishment group called “The Order”, Dante is now discovering and coming to terms with what it means to be the child of a demon and an angel. This split personality has a real impact on gameplay with Dante being able to call upon angel and demon abilities at will, transforming his Rebellion sword on the fly to dramatically affect both combat and movement. For DmC Capcom has teamed up with UK development studio, Ninja Theory, renown for delivering action titles with compelling characters and narrative coupled with high production values. The combination of Ninja Theory’s expertise and Capcom’s unrivalled heritage in producing combat focused action titles will ensure that this latest addition to the over 11-million selling series will remain true to the Devil May Cry DNA so cherished by the fans, while bringing a new level of cinematic quality to the title. Features - Survive Limbo - The world of Limbo is a living and breathing entity, out to kill Dante. The world will transform in real-time and try to block off and even kill our hero. Our protagonist will have to master demonic powers to shape Limbo the way he sees fit, while perfecting his angelic skills to traverse this hazardous, twisted world. - Who is Dante? – Explore a retelling of Dante’s origin story in a gripping narrative featuring familiar faces from the series alongside all new characters, including Vergil, Dante’s twin brother. - Unbridled action – The intense and iconic sword and gun based combat returns with the addition of new Angel and Demon weapons and abilities, all designed to dispatch the demonic spawn back to hell with style and panache. Weapons include: “Rebellion”: Dante’s trusted sword, given by his father Sparda, provides a great mix of combos and attacks, great for sending enemies skyward. “Ebony & Ivory”: These guns are good for keeping enemies at bay, maintaining combos and juggling enemies in the air. “Arbiter”: a demonic axe that can deliver massive blows and break through enemy shields. “Osiris”: an angelic scythe with fast attacks and great for crowd control. “Eryx”: powerful demonic gauntlets that pack enough punch to parry even the strongest attacks and juggle the heaviest enemies. - Retaining the Devil May Cry DNA – Capcom staff, including team members from previous Devil May Cry titles, have been assigned to the project from the outset to ensure DmC is a true addition to the Devil May Cry franchise. - Unrivalled production values - Ninja Theory will take advantage of the latest performance capture technology to deliver a level of character design, story-telling and cinematics that perfectly complements DmC’s high-octane combat. Jesus wept, the ending to this. It's not [sp]Vergilosaurus Rex, nor is there a time machine powered by the tears of Nephilim as foretold on /v/[/sp], it just comes completely out of left field. There's really not much to see in this unless you've never played a hack n' slash / beat 'em up before, let alone a Devil May Cry game. Also spoilers for the game and They Live, since it's pretty much ripped directly from it.
You know what? Just go buy Devil May Cry 4 on Green Man Gaming - it's still inexplicably £1.69 without discount codes and MT Framework looks/runs fantastic on any hardware. Or just watch players who seem to play nothing but DMC4. The endgame of Obonsam Besu: Devil May Cry is as slow and uninvolved as it is at the start, no matter what difficulty setting you're at. This is what DMC4 can potentially look like with [del]Turbo[/del] Legendary Dark Knight mode on: [t]http://cdn.steampowered.com/v/gfx/apps/45700/ss_388c8775f545983c28f018bef395b9d43f31113c.1920x1080.jpg?t=1356140890[/t] [sup](And if you want a more relaxed hack n' slash, you can tone all of that down, but at least you have somewhere to go once you get good at the game.)[/sup]

So why is the ending awful?
just got my mail

Bought the game, glad I could find it at that price. I wanted to buy another copy and give it away on steamgifts but the website wouldn't let me.
Whoops, I got the features mixed up. Turbo is an option which makes everything faster - smaller windows for enemy attacks and such. Legendary Dark Knight mode brings the attack strength and health of enemies up to hard difficulty, and spawns enemies in the numbers seen on the Steam screenshots.
FUCK YOU.
Where do people get cutscenes with only voices?
Where do people get cutscenes with only voices?
Leaks.
I just played the demo and beat it. Son of Sparda mode is a bitch. I think it's alright. It's another Devil May Cry game with a different Dante pretty much. It's not bad, but it's not groundbreaking or anything. It's on par with most hack 'n' slash games. They sure don't hold back with the profanity though. Or the sick shit like the Special Ingredient talking about pissing down Dante's neck and shitting on his corpse :v:
Vulgarity aside, this game has been getting mostly 85+/100 Reviews so far. Im quite interested. The reboot of Dante doesn't really bother me so much, it's actually Vergil. Guy sounds like he's voiced by a superhero.
It's just frustrating to see the game basically be worse than its predecessors in every single category, especially in a series that you really like, especially when the lead director on it is pretentious enough to call it "Shakespearian"
> No baby! Suck me in! Pull me back in!! > "Shakespearian"
Reviews are in, it's doing well. http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/dmc-devil-may-cry
Soundtrack is by Noisia. Fuck yeah
I'm going to pre-order today. I'm giving it a chance just like I gave every other game a chance (I'm looking at you Operation Raccoon City) Hopefully it doesn't end up like ORC though :v:
I never played DMC game before but one redesign choice feels a bit unoriginal. Ivory and Ebony new twisted design is nice but why did they had to use Desert Eagles as base?
Based Sess tells it like it is.
I watched that view up to the point where he said "It's hard, and not in the fun way" and then turned it off.
i wish they didn't change dante. He was fine before. The hell/heaven weapon styles are kind of interesting though
christ I thought people were just kidding about this scene but it's true
Based Sess tells it like it is.
Seems to sum it up well. A decent hack-and-slash, even if it's lacking the complexity of past games, but a juvenile and poorly-written story that tries to appear cool but just comes off as stupid.
For the love of fuck don't buy this fucking game. Here's a scene of Vorgil [sp]aborting a baby[/sp]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgrfl02IJVA&t=2m40s here's donte bragging about how good it is to watch babies get blown into wet chunks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4iFeNq8ClI&t=2m and here's a scene of vorgil bragging about how big his dick is please don't buy this fuckingg ame
I've watched the endings in leaked videos, one is hilariously bad, and the other is soooooo boring.
I've watched the endings in leaked videos, one is hilariously bad, and the other is soooooo boring.
[sp]They both play out no matter what happens. After the Brothers H&M walk off into the sunset and '#Demons' begins trending on Twitter, they and Kat gather at an entirely different fucked up part of Limbo City.[/sp] [sp]Then Vergil's all like "mom said its my turn to be mundus" and the player engages in what could have been an adequate fight if Vergil had more health and every chunk removed didn't segue into a cutscene.[/sp]
I think the two big issues with this game are really the hilariously bad writing and the dumbed down gameplay. DMC has always been cheesy, over the top and such. Dante has always been a cocky shithead that most of the characters in the games can't fucking stand, but he wasn't vulgar. He's a badass invincible demon killer that knows none of the guys he's talking to can hurt him and he takes use of it. The new dante, however, is a piece of shit that either whines about everything, spews out kindergarten insults, or for lack of any originality, just says "fuck you !" to everyone. Not to mention he doesn't really taunt anyone, he just makes sure he can beat whoever he has in front of him, THEN pisses on him like a douchebag. It's not dante anymore, it's an annoying dipshit. As for the gameplay, it's oversimplified, slower and just not as enjoyable as the previous ones. The biggest flow is how easy it is to exploit some attacks (like how you can pretty much fly indefinitely using that one scythe move), and how easy it can be to get a SSS rank on a combo (there's a gif of the player just hitting RT+Y over and over on a boss, getting a fucking SSS rank from it). The game has some good things, sure, but they fucked up two major things that really make DMC titles. People weren't kidding when they talked of betrayal, because this goes against everything the series had going for it. [editline]14th January 2013[/editline] http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/603367 this sums it up well.
