i know this is a repost, but i meant to post it here in the first place, the outcome was exactly what i expected in the old one. (and i did say i wanted it moved) this is more open to the community, instead of being stuck in the call of duty section where it would be completely biased. anyway, whats your opinion (User was banned for this post ("Crap thread" - Greeman))
What is a shoutgun?
I wonder how the people who rage at noobtubes in COD will react when they'll see Bad Company 2.
I was introduced to the term Noobtube in Battlefield 2, where it was used to refer to the grenade launcher. In most games shotguns seem to suck, making them the opposite.
Nade Luncher... I'd rather not eat explosives, thanks.
Grenade launcher is a noobtube. Shotgun is a boom stick.
What is a shoutgun?
A gun that yells at you until you die.
1:Find a Fire. 2:Die in it.
The reason it's biased is because people know how to kill properly, whether it be cheap or not.
What is a shoutgun?
woops, never noticed that lol i was first introduced to the term "noobtube" in Halo 3. it was the shotgun. and im sure ive heard it used in counter strike. as someone pointed out to me, the origin of the term "noobtube" came from the nickname for auto shotguns in counter strike... Noob Cannons
I wonder how the people who rage at noobtubes in COD will react when they'll see Bad Company 2.
They're not nearly as powerful in Bad Company and the larger maps and destructible cover make the grenade launcher a far more interesting weapon than the one-shot-kill it is in CoD. You can land a grenade right next to an enemy and it probably won't kill him outright. It can be kind of annoying at times but it works in terms of balancing. It takes a lot more effort to use it as a way to weaken the enemy than as a way to get an easy kill.
I was first introduced to the term "noobtube" in Far Cry 2. Where someone would basically use the small grenade launcher like in MW2. Do they use the grenade launcher as a portable artillery in MW2?
The term "noobtube" seems very childish but I always thought the grenade launcher in COD 4 was a bit unfair. You can't really avoid it once it's fired and it kills or nearly kills you. Seems a bit like a free ticket to a kill. Shotgun won't do shit at long range though. With a grenade launcher it can still fly a long distance and kill someone.
earliest i remember is the shotgun in cod2, so if you guys can beat me with something older than that its the shotty otherwise i got nothin
Noob tube is the nade launcher, has been in many games Noob cannon is often known as the shotgun, unless it's the AWP in CS:S
Afaik noob tube originated as the name for rocket launchers, when people used them against infantry instead of against vehicles. It makes no sense for the shotgun, as it doesn't have a tube, it has a barrel. It makes sense for the GL, but I still remember it for the rocket launcher.
o damn, i voted shotgun :( I ment to press noobtube. Yes the word was originally from battlefield 2.
I wonder how the people who rage at noobtubes in COD will react when they'll see Bad Company 2.
I barely ever get killed by them.
The XM1014 is called the noob cannon in CS, and the noob tube will always be the GL from the CoD games.
The XM1014 is called the noob cannon in CS
I thought the automatic snipers were "noob cannons". [editline]03:05AM[/editline] Also, I found out the term noobtube from COD4.
I wonder how the people who rage at noobtubes in COD will react when they'll see Bad Company 2.
I just use the grenade launchers in BC2 as tools for making doors in the sides of buildings.
What Grenade launcher you mean?
I wonder how the people who rage at noobtubes in COD will react when they'll see Bad Company 2.
Well considering the GL in BC2 is nothing like the one in MW2, I would say they their reaction wouldn't be similar at all.
Grenade Launcher, every time. Every time I die, it is the Grenade Launcher. It is only when they shout "pwned" I shout "noobtuber"
Grenade launcher is a noobtube. Shotgun is a boom stick.
Bewm Stick time.
Grenade Launcher, every time. Every time I die, it is the Grenade Launcher. It is only when they shout "pwned" I shout "noobtuber"
Only in games were using a grenade launcher takes no skill. Like in MW2. BC2 actually has you use the sites correctly.
The name noon-tube is retarded. It may be easy to spray and kill someone with but it's difficult to keep the recoil under control.
ArmA II has almost no "noob tubes" because it takes some sort of skill to shoot them. That's why most servers want you to join a Vent/TS server before you fly anything other than a Blackhawk/Huey/Osprey.
The name noon-tube is retarded. It may be easy to spray and kill someone with but it's difficult to keep the recoil under control.
What are you talking about? In the context of a grenade launcher or shotgun its only one shot per reload so recoil does not matter. Unless you are talking about the auto shotgun from CSS. If not, you are talking about a Bullet Hose. Not a noob tube.
Noob-Tube = SAW. It has always been that. Since CS 1.6
