• FPS games with LAN and bots?

I just like a bit of LAN fun, I guess, but there aren't that many games that allow for bots in LAN play. Preferably it should be a first-person shooter. Quick kills (perhaps only a few shots) would be nice. While Ironsights would be nice, I'm not looking for 'play CoD hurr-durr', and vehicles would be a bonus. And now comes the restricting factor: One of the members who will join the LAN will be playing on a netbook. Intel Atom 1.66GHz 1GB RAM Intel GMA 950. There's the biggest problem. The other computer specs are: 2.4GHz Dual Core 3GB RAM Intel Mobile 4 Series 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo 1GB RAM Intel GMA 950 1.8GHz AMD Athlon X2 1.5GB RAM NVidia 8200M G Which are all higher than the netbook in specification. Then there's my computer: 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo 4GB DDR3 RAM Nvidia G105M. My computer will also run the server, but that should be fine, as it usually is. Do you guys have any ideas, especially with those low end cards? Thanks in advance, guys. (User was banned for this post ("Choose for me (again)" - rilez))
ARMA?
ARMA?
His friend will be playing on netbook. Are you insane?
Why don't you take a look at Red Eclipse? It's free and a really great game, don't judge it by the looks.

The original ArmA seems to say it can be run on a 1.8GHz Pentium 4 and 512MB RAM and a graphics card with Pixel Shader 2, which the netbook has all of. That could be easy enough. Is the first one any good, or is the second one where it's at?

Thanks for the suggestion  [editline]3rd April 2011[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://www.garage208.com/forum/images/smilies/thats_the_joke.jpg[/img_thumb] Anyway, how about Battlefield: Vietnam?
Sounds good, thanks for the suggestion. I hate bots. :colbert: Actual human-players are more easy to fool than bots, so that's why I prefer playing with real human opponents.
I know you said no COD but seriosly, COD4 runs pretty good on lower-end computers and it's fun. Dunno about bots though.
The original Half-Life might be able to run, and has bots you can add (although it may be kind of a hassle). With that in mind, Opposing Force, Team Fortress Classic, and Ricochet should all work. Has some great mods, as well.
Counter-Strike 1.6 doesn't have bots but Counter-Strike:Source and Counter-Strike:Condition Zero indeed has them.
I know you said no COD but seriosly, COD4 runs pretty good on lower-end computers and it's fun. Dunno about bots though.
CoD4 doesn't have bots, and it requires Shader Model 2.0, which the GMA 950 doesn't have. Thanks anyway
Red Orchestra? One or two shots to the chest and you go down, and it has ironsights and vehicles. The bots can be a bit retarded but its still very playable with them.
Unreal Tournament 99/2004/3 with insta-gib Operation Flashpoint Quake 3 with insta-gib Ravenshield SWAT 3/4 Ghost Recon

Thanks for the suggestions.
Counter-Strike isn't very demanding, and it can be quite fun. I think people just look down on it for its "3L337 PR0" community.
You won't run Unreal Tournament 3. He meant 2003. That game was SO FUN!
You won't run Unreal Tournament 3. He meant 2003. That game was SO FUN!
Oh right, OK then. We'll give that a go
Halo 1 for the PC had LAN and bots, iirc.

I wouldn't bother with UT2003. It was replaced by UT2004 which was the same thing with more maps and gametypes. and vehicles. or so I believe, anyways.

Soldier of Fortune 2 + Bot mod. Forget what I said if you don't like gore. Also SW Jedi Knight. Outcast or Academy - no matter. But Jedi Academy is better of course.
Unreal Tournament 99/2004/3 with insta-gib Operation Flashpoint Quake 3 with insta-gib Ravenshield SWAT 3/4 Ghost Recon
I second SWAT 3/4 I have been playing the past few days with a friend over LAN and it's fun as fuck. You probably won't be able to play 4, but there's demos for both if you would like to test them http://www.fileplanet.com/53381/50000/fileinfo/SWAT-3:-Elite-Edition-Demo http://www.fileplanet.com/150436/150000/fileinfo/SWAT-4-Singleplayer-Demo [editline]3rd April 2011[/editline] Oh wait bots. There's NPC terrorists and friendly SWAT bots that will help you in singleplayer, but LAN is just you and your friend(s) against NPC terrorists.
IL2 Sturmovik is awesome over LAN/Net with coop if you guys have joysticks. Throw in the Dynamic Campaign generator and make some crazy campaigns, like a campaign where you all fly Hurricane MkIIs against a swarm of CR-42s or something. Or my personal favorite, F-86 Sabres against a ton of Me-262 HGIIs, Ta-183s, Me-163s, Arado 234s and FW-200s. It's like playing Beat Hazard to Gustav Holst, eventually someone is going to get you. They all fire bullets that can turn you into confetti in a single hit, while you just have regular .50 cal machineguns.
