So, I was near completing Mass Effect 2 and I decided to go watch some TV. I turn my xbox back on later and the fucking thing is refusing to read my discs and I just bought Bioshock 2 today aswell. I've tried all the tips on the xbox site and they don't seem to be working, so I came on here hoping facepunch had some help for me or if you could tell me if it costs to get my xbox repaired and how much.
Help would be nice.

Same thing happened to me.
Take it completely apart, clean the reading eye with some rubbing alcohol.
Won't work instantly after that(or at least, didn't for me), though.
I just figured mine couldn't be fixed, but after trying a game again, a few days later, it worked fine.
Mine did this a few years ago. Send it to MS whether it's under warranty or not because if I remember correctly it was a part replacement job.
