I'm gonna buy Penumbra and Call of Cthulhu but any other ideas? :)
Cryostasis.
F.E.A.R maybe [editline]01:26AM[/editline] and condemned maybe
STALKER ! I need to get CoP...
Seano is wrong, Anyways any Silent Hill.
Sleepyperson is wrong. STALKER has very frightening moments.
Like the first time you meet that one psychic thing in the tunnels whose name I forget atm. Good lord I almost had a heart attack.
Silent Hill 2.
Pseudogiants and Bloodsuckers. :ohdear:
Now, this is from Metro 2033, but look at these things, Imagine seeing this in a dark, running at you. I find things like that scarier than Anything in FEAR. (resized image in MSpaint.)
2033 is gonna be sweet. The money/ammo thing should be really interesting too.
Cryostasis seems like a good game IMO
I became intensely interested from that screenshot and pulled this up from Wikipedia. "Metro 2033 is an upcoming action-oriented video game with a combination of horror, survival, RPG, and first-person shooter elements. The game is based on the novel Metro 2033 by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. It is developed by 4A Games in Ukraine, and will be released in 2010 on the Xbox 360 and for Microsoft Windows. In March 2006, 4A Games announced a partnership with Glukhovsky to collaborate on the game. The game was announced a few months later at the 2006 Games Convention in Leipzig; a first trailer came along with the announcement." Another Ukranian game company making another first person horror shooter? And it's on a console!? Sold! Loved STALKER for its creepy dark atmosphere and this has a similar vibe.
Dead Space
"Hey look a pile of dead bod-OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK AHHHH!" :tinfoil:
Condemned: Criminal Origins.
"Hey look a pile of dead bod-OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK AHHHH!" :tinfoil:
More like "Hey look, a pile of dead bodies, I'll just push them all out of the way with my magic weight-resistant feet and stomp their limbs off with ease. Oh look there's another baby with tentacles coming off it's back on the wall. Oh no now I need to backtrack again. Oh no, [sp]that bitch that Isaac supposedly loves is doing something creepy again.[/sp]" (Although I still loved Dead Space, it was just very predictable and had some fairly visible faults.) Get Penumbra, OP. Ah shit, you're already doing that. Well, Condemned then. And any of the Silent Hills. (I've only played 2, which I hear is the best, but supposedly they're all horrifying.)
Fear 2

If you have a PS2, Fatal Frame is pretty damned freaky.

Uses a copy of the same engine as well.
